I'm using Tremulous in Ubuntu Dapper 6.06 with normal user rights.

How starirs became transit:

Once apon a time godmil showed me a photo of a fairly big industrial complex with a staircase in it. He dared me to remake it in q3. I did.

This staircase map began to grow untill it became huge. Really huge.


The map, starirs, is around the size of 4-5 normal maps.

This map didn't want to compile (lol) Here is a newer version. ydnar released a q3map2 that could read .ase models and compile them as brushes. It looked a lot better now.



The old starirs base was replaced.



The map was still way to big so I decided the get rid of everything and just leave the outpost. I added some sections to make it look like it was entirely underground.



Looking familiar? I later deleted half of the base and replaced it with the trainstation section that transit has today.

Starirs was really fucking huge. From starirs to transit took a couple of years.

Speaking of which, can I boost the light level in my screenshots with a bind? Tremulous is almost as dark as Deus Ex, in some places. I have to play certain maps in lower ambient light conditions (like pull the drapes or play at night), and the screenies are practically braille.

UnnamedPlayer joined and started to say things like "my ass will devour u all".naturally everyone was loathing but than he started to levitate in this strange sexy position.seconds later drentch came to base with hostile attitude(wanted 2 bite someone) but as he jumped toward the Unnamed he just disappeared...he was sucked in in his ass!everybody went "omg" waiting 4 poor player to respown but as we noticed he was not on player list anymore.he never came back to report what lies beyond the black crack.after that i got disconnected...i am still trembling as i think of that fearsome day.now i can't play trem since every time UnnamedPlayer connects i piss myself.
can devs change this dreadful name in v1.2
like "hiIamNewie"

"hiIshallNotDevourUwithMyAss"

I prefer real colors and a sharp image, as opposed to washed out colors and and a goo-ish image.
