I know the mod has just been released, but I thought I would suggest this. This is something that could wait for a 2.0 release.
Anyway, I think it would be nice if the aliens could see their claws while in first person. Sometimes it is hard to tell if you are hitting something and it is hard to hear the attack sound when the action is intense, so it would be nice to have more visual feedback. It also feels rather odd at times not being able to see anything in first person, atleast for me. Classes like the Dretch and the regular Granger don't need to see their claws/jaws. For monsters that use their jaws, maybe they could be at the bottom of the screen and snap when attacking?
I'd also like to see enhanced weapon models for the Humans. As it stands, they feel like slightly enhanced Quake 3 weapons and are kind of plain. Adding things like hands to the view weapons and better reload animations rather than the Goldeneye-style drop would be nice, but are not necessary.
These are minor things and can wait or not be implemented at all, especially the enhanced human weapons. For now, it doesn't seem to be a problem, but having more visual feedback besides blood splats for the aliens would be nice. I think I heard that adding animations to the weapons in Quake 3 outside of a rotating barrel was rather difficult, so I understand if it was decided not to do that.
