S11 guid stealing again

ok i was recently in s11 some clan named sa was there hackers and seems they have rcon and gave me admin and now my thing got taken so just to anoynce to ever one if u see a Rev|shadow it may or may not be me most likely wont be me bcz i spend all my time on my server tremfor all or zilla so yea. and can we find a damn way to shut the server down ??

Why the hell are you still using the old insecure tjw version of the game? That particular security hole has been fixed as soon as the GUID stealing trick has been made public.

( well, nobody posted how to do it but just knowing it could be done was info enouth to find the info )

Heh, if he runs a mute on you, you can still run commands, just use a /! instead of a !.

Oh Noes, SST did this to me!!!

Yeah it doesn't really matter really as long as you didn't have high level admin or an admin level with commands that can be abused readily.

i've said this before but...

Not everyone in the trem community visits the forums. People see that that map is on ATCS (that's in the rotation like 90% of the time) so they connect to that server. There are also a lot of slots (29 i think). big games + atcs all lot = people going to that server.

yah s11 is just plain evil.  You get muted for !listplayers.  Also the server operator seems to always be on.  The only time I went there I said everyone leave server s11 will steal your GUID and use ur admin.  Then he banned me for 83 days for spreading rumors lol

he doesnt steal quids anymore and the only one, whose guid was stolen, was ghost shell -noob dretch storm admin- or the -my code is so special admin-

You are partially correct.  The guid was "stolen" when it was used by someone other than Ghost Shell.  The collection of GUIDs by a server operator is simple to accomplish.  If such a system were set up, it would continue to collect them all as long as it ran.  If Polly did collect a GUID, then Polly has such a system in place and the danger continues.  If Polly did use Ghost Shells GUID to damage a competing server then any visitor must accept that Polly may do the same to them.  Collection of Guids is simple by the way.

A server operator abusing the security system that all of the servers run on (regardless of what anyone thinks of it) is a much more serious thing than a server operator coding in their own changes without releasing them, though I would look on neither of them as a good thing.

I was never convinced that Polly did this, as I have never seen actual evidence.  You f0rqu3 are certainly changing my mind.
