Aliens are too big to use... there should be small about human size or smaller instead of tyrants size of elefant. other things I'd like is that instead off all gas, zap and projectile alien enchantments i would like that you can choose one of several enchant ments:
-Flame breath (set on fire)
-Gas (current basilisk gas)
-Zap (mauderer area Zap)
-Icy breath (slow/freeze oppoment)

I think the main problem with the aliens size is gettting around other aliens. In my mind smaller aliens should be able to walk under larger aliens or even climb them lol. Imagine the marines faces as a tyrant charges them and suddenly lots of little guys crawl all over it and jump off to attack. hitching a ride :D

And while I do agree having no major projectile weapons is a little vulnerable, the speed and strength of the aliens is what makes them fun to fight as and play as. I think some kind of 'hit sound' is needed too. Like when you connect with a slash, but there isn't such a noise for pouncing etc...

Just thinking too much I guess..

I remember quake 3 had a hit sound you could turn off or on, it was on by default. Since this is based on the q3 source code it might be easy to include, if it is not allready.

I have a bone to pick with aliens as well. Seems they just aren't very interesting to play, in all honesty. It sounds gimmicky, but aliens do really need some special abilities. Maybe the aforementioned abilities or even some more defensive ones like consuming corpses for health, a camoflauge option, or something along those lines.

At the moment I find myself going alien just prove to others the game is balanced and/or so I don't hog humans all the time.

Yeah! We can have the marauder breath fire, the dragoon turn invisible when it stops moving, and the granger can start infesting corpses as traps for humans.  What original ideas!  :wink: (Apologies to ye olde Gloom)

But seriously, the alien classes could provide a little more atmosphere for the alien player.  Something more to make them feel alien then just a funny FOV and moving faster than normal.  Maybe the tyrant should shoot lucifer rounds out of its mouth...  :lol:

hehe..call me weirdo but i like the idea of eating corpses ;)
Anyway, the aliens are already healing, so this would be overkill...but sure it would be fun to have some more things to do. I think there will some things get included when the developers are done with bugfixing and stuff ;)

I already like to play with aliens, but getting around other aliens is a true problem when you are a little bigger. This should be the first step to correct.
Maybe if smaller aliens automatically climb on bigger ones, or something similar could help. But then again bigger ones still could not get around smallers if they stay where they are... in my experience Tyrant can not really jump over a Marauder...

Oh and about other improvenets... naturally I'm not against any sweeties wich improve the atmosphere of playing the alien race ;)

yeah aliens seem fine to me....everything is balanced...a lot of you guys think that health regen and speed isnt enough and that u need lots of other long range abilities...

did u guys notice that half this game is about stratagy?? knowing your surrounding?? every map has its advantage.. u have to seek it out and use it at all times.... r u a small alien and cant reach those jetpackers??? then wtf are u doing in that open space???? either grab some adv. dragoons or grangers and shoot those flying aholes down or dont go near them!!!! go around or use cover... again like i said in another post communication is the key to success in this game... maybe a bit of luck also.

my fav alien is the adv dragoon cause of the pouncing and sniping. half my kills in this game alone using humans and aliens are from sniping with adv dragoon... hide behind a corner...peek shot kill....hide behind corner pounce kill shoot kill slash kill....hide behind corner and repeat to get massive amounts of points....

god i must be bored here at school to type this much usefull but randomly boring stuff....

listen to what i write im telling you its how u get really good at this game :D

I think aliens are fine too. The dragoon is a touch boring at times, prefer to go balisk or maurauder, so kinda agree with the invisible thing - but then that is gloom innit?

Most of the team playing elements of the game will appear when people get better and more maps appear. Some of the maps I think were kinda test maps (but these are in my opinion the best!).

but i think it gets boring when one or both teams get third stage... tyrant is stupid big creature that does not fit in any place... and battle suit is just boring
