It's great as long as you are getting a good ping, if you play on a server with a little lag then the game might suck horribly. Luckily most servers are good, one of my friends has it running on a pretty crummy HP so I'd say that you could run it on a decent computer, and you might as well try since it's free. 2GB or so download so I have it burned to a DVD, make sure you get the latest patch (it will ask you for it ingame), without it I couldn't get 1280x1024 res so it looked bad on my LCD, but a week later that patch came out so I became addicted.

The coolest things:
Strap proximity nades onto teammates when FF is off and send them into the enemy spawning grounds, you can get some awesome kills, Kamikaze works well for death:kill ratio on the teams.

Use the penetrator on someone who's jumping or in the air, you can pin their corpse to walls or the ceiling.

Trying to pin 2+ bodies onto each other.

Trying to "rocket jump" with the sub-7 particle weapon.

Stay near a weapon spawn with your weapon away, you can move a lot faster like that, wait for someone to get it and then you swoop in and unarmed attack them.

Using slow-mo after throwing a nade, you can shoot the nade in mid-air and propel it further.

...yeah.  :D

You can't compare those two games...wtf. Well, even if other games are better than it (I love NOLF but I not more than F.E.A.R.) F.E.A.R. still owns, you can like more than one game.

NOLF 2 was kinda weak after having beat No One Lives Forever.
A more appropriate name would have been MILF 2, or SAILF. (Secret Agent)

I've heard it's got fun gameplay, but the stupid acronym and stupid long-hair-girl clichés keep me from having any real desire to play it.

Well, there's no girl in FEAR Combat (multiplayer), and most people just call it "FEAR", without the periods.   :P

Well, i played through fear on my computer, and i must say that it isnt very scary at all. 'Oooo shit, a little girl is walking towards me and i think i'm going to die if i stay in the same spot for more than 5 seconds!' Is not very creepy, seriously, you are in a very minimal danger from the 'supernatural' dangers in the game until the last map, where it can be quite a pain..
'
But the atmosphere is cool, and is what's making the little creepy there is (not talking about silly girls walking around trying to scare you, but the general map design and look.) Also, the gunfights are intense and fun.

Yes, it got my hearty beating a little faster, but IMO doom3 or HL2 is far more scary. 'specially doom3 :S

$600 for a console with 7 processors, and that's just one thing. It's got enough power to run more hardware-heavy games for a good many years past the 360.

Consoles should be used for console only games and people who don't have keyboard skills, if you're into online gaming with games that are out on PC, then play on a PC. I don't see why anyone would play FEAR on a console unless they already own that console and can't spend that money on getting their PC to run it.
