I would like to suggest a new item: the backpack or ammo satchel. The backpack would act like a battery pack, only it allows the player to carry 2 extra magazines or more ammo for weapons that are not energy based (eg Lasgun, Pulse Rifle, etc). Naturally, this item would be placed on the back and could not be used with the battlesuit, battery pack or jetpack.

I think it would be nice if battlesuits could carry more ammo, too, but maybe not as much as a backpack to balance things out. Since the Chaingun is the weapon for the battlesuit, it kind of bothers me that you can carry so little ammo for it while in a battlesuit. You often run out and have to run back to base. This can cause problems during alien base raids.

Maybe Battlesuits carry more ammo for weapons like the Chaingun and Flamethrower, and the backpack carries more ammo for weapons that use magazines, such as the rifle and shotgun? Just a suggestion. :)

i believe this has already been brought up a few times.....

i would also kinda like there to be more ammo... i think everyone would...but
will it keep things more balanced or will it tilt the favor for the humans????? would have to be beta tested and played with a bit to see if it is a good idea

heck maybe there should just be a case with a good deal of ammo in it some people could use in their weapon slot then u could run around and go to battlesuit guys and in a little kiddie voice be like "more ammo mister??" and by pushing the use button give some ammo..... lol ammo boy!!!!

I think the whole idea about ammo limit is that a base should not be destroyed in one single coordinated assault, but rather in a steady stream of hit and run.

If bases were destroyed too easily, games would not last very long and it would be frustrating for the loosing team.

What makes a victory should not be the ultimate combination of armor and gun, but the ultimate team coordination.

I agree. Heavy armor shouldn't be a no-brainer, just like Tyrant currently is.  If you really want the ammo on the battlefield, try repeater + armory. But that requires teamwork. Chaingun is still good for defence/holding middle ground.

Energy weapons are easier to supply  because you need only repeater, and you can build repeater basically everywhere. Besides, Lucifer gun has so much ammo you can destroy half of enemy base with it + bunch of aliens.
