Mad at S/W

So I was playing aliens on S/W public, minding my own business, not feeding, 2nd place in kills, not doing anything bad like deconning or hacking.  I was being an upstanding, model citizen.

Suddenly I found myself at the Trem main screen.  A message popped up saying "You have been banned by {s/w}school-power...duration: 50 days...reason:  'go away' "

tjw says you shouldn't kick people just because you don't like them (master.tremulous.net).  So where is the justification in this???

If I did something wrong, let me know...also post your other "i'm-mad-at-the-server" stories here for everyone's enjoyment.

To my knowledge, TJW is not an admin on S/W
Server admins/operators do as they please on their own servers.

Perhaps you should speak to someone remotely involved with the server?
My guess is that it is the {S/W} clan public server...

TJW's rules are just that, TJW's rules.  Many operators find them to be sensible and use them.  Some operators start with TJW's rules as a template and modify as they seem fit.  Some operators could care less.  It is really entirely up to the server admins/operators.

Was it stupid?  No offense, but not having been there, I couldn't say.

1. we were playing on {S/W}Clan, which is our clan server.  We can do whatever we want with it.  If it had been {S/W}Public I might not of ban you.  What makes you think you can come to the tremulous forums call my clan a group of utter noobs and reference me to Hitler and think u can still play peacefully on my server.  Got news for you.  When you insult people and piss them off they generally don't give you access to their stuff like your their friend.

correct I also cleared this up on our forums like rabbitt said but since this post is about it, I have every right to stay on topic and post a reasonable response.

It is not a flame bait.  That is the reason he banned its simple as that.  This matter has been discussed and the ban removal was denied will a forum moderator please lock the topic.  Caveman floodbud only posted here to stir up trouble.  He goes to school with me he could of simply talked to me about it during class.  He wanted to come here because he wants problems.  He understands hardly anything of tremulous because he doesn't play the game but an hour and a half every other school day.  Mostly on local servers when he does.  Telling someone why they were banned to me does not seem like allegations.  You want the link to the topic post where he insulted my clan?  Its not allegations its plain out fact.  He blatantly called all of my clan a group of noobs when hes played with less than a fifth of us.  Then referenced Hitler symbolizing me as Hitler.  There is no allegation it is a straight up fact and that is the straight up reason he is not allowed to play on {S/W} servers.  I am not trying to stir up problems you are.

I disagree.  The forums is the FIRST place to complain about it.  It's not like you can complain on the server, cuz you're banned.  And your account will often not get validated on the clan forum of the people who banned you, because they obviously hate you.  The only place to go IS the forums.

Presumably, whoever created the server has enough invested in the game to check the Trem forums regularly.  And as I already stated, if the admins of the server hated someone enough to ban them, they WON'T VALIDATE THAT PERSON'S ACCOUNT ON THEIR SERVER FORUM.

There is an additional bonus for complaining about admin abuse in that their servers gain a black spot, and people will know to stear clear.  It (hopefully) makes server admins think twice before being dykes.

1. I still fail to see why anyone here should care about 1 out of 250 servers that you point out.

2. Complaining about a server here does not give the server a black spot, it gives the complainer a black spot.  They obviously don't see the pointlessness of their actions, don't understand that servers are not affiliated with tremulous.net, and that tremulous.net has no control over them.  It's the operators server, they will do what they want.  If that means banning you from their forums, I again do not understand why you think they will listen to you here.

3. If an operator has banned you from their server and their forums, I for one am gonna hope you don't come to my server cause you sound like you're more of a hassle than it's worth.

4. What makes an admin think twice is the operator, not the person using the free service.
