Sys_Error: VM_Create on UI failed

why is this happening? I'm on Gentoo 2006.1 amd64, custom build of trem.

well, if i enable cl_allowdownload it will connect, but stop connecting when it tries to re-download base/vms-1.1.0.pk3 (which i already have there), then it stops that and tells me downloading is disabled on the server, and to disable cl_allowdownload for it to work.

when i do that, tremulous crashes after clicking join.....


fuck this is getting annoying.....and i was just playing like five minutes ago.

moved out all copies of vms-1.1.0.pk3 into an independent directory, then tried again, but to no avail

custom build of trem failed

svn is not compatible with 1.1.0

IT'S NOT SVN.....it's the original tremulous 1.1.0 src

sounds like what you have in the vms.pk3 might be wrong.
The file gets md5'd as part of the cheat protection, so your best bet is to get one you didn't compile yourself.
That or make sure you have all the right files in all the right places in it.

moved it into an independant directory.....and it still broke

but the sv_pure 0 and it all worked great so yeah.....pure.....ahahahaha forgot about it... imma work on a patch for that 8)

off topic: does anyone know where i can get a tjw patch other than 755 (say perhaps 909) for svn? i have been wanting to use 909 for awhile in the regular game, but can't.

there is no point in doing that, pretty much all changes in svn are for the game and cgame, compiling a new client will not change a thing.

Solution: do NOT modify the client and NEVER ask for support if you do it. Especially if you fucked the UI.
