When playing Quake 3 with CTF, I was guarding the blue flag, when all of the sudden a message appears on my screen:

AntiCamp:[/b]
You are camping, Move..... or DIE!!![/b]

....2 seconds later I died :D

So I thought we should also have this system. (with exception of builders)
Like: you get the message after 5 seconds of standing still, and if you are still not moving, you die 2 seconds after it.
What are your thoughts??

And it will not stop camping at all.
Then you'd have to give humans a penalty for staying in base for too long, but as the human sometimes abolutely has to stay in base, this would lead to stupid feeding.

the best anticamp is a determined squad of coordinated attackers
is it still camping if the other team is in your base, too?

most the time when people camp, THEY HAVE TO, if they don't then they get owned in a second cause aliens are surrounding their base, and get flamed for feeding.

wouldnt this also make those goons camping around the corner move too?

probably will, but the 80% of players that when they go kill a goon they walk right in front of it and stop moving to shoot will feed and let them evolve 10x faster

Bad idea. Tremulous is about strategy; it's not an adrenaline packed arena shooter.

This is indeed a very bad idea. And what is funnier is that the Quake 3 CTF example is clearly a bad idea too :) I mean, if you create a game of CTF where your team must both attack and defend at the same time, this isn't to later add a rule saying "Leave the flag undefended or die"

In trem, it's the same. Lose your base and you lose the game. Any rule that prevents defenders from doing their work is stupid.

5 SECONDS!!!!!!!!!!!
What if I decide to write a long message, or for tactical reasons you have to hold yer ground?!!!!
I dont like it that much, too many tricky variables, could piss people off.

the game does need something to limit turtling however having a straight anti-camp is stupid.
