I always try to build a base here, its fun, cramming a base into a tiny area. Its also excellent cos the only ways in an out are the small vents (PULSE FODDER) and the big sniping pad.
As long as it is maintained, its a very nice cubby hole. Very cosy.

I play Arachnid fairly often, but I'm not familiar with what you're talking about...any chance I could see a screenshot?

Ventroom near alien base. You know it, they're just being vague.
I’m busy. I’ll ignore you later.

yeah it's a pretty old setup.... the problem with it is the whole "if you make it impossible for your enemy to get in you also make it impossible for yourself to get out" thing.

right behind aliens default, very tight spot, if you can get it its ok but a +goon can pounce straight up from below and snipe into that tight little room and when something blows its so close to everything else every buildable in that room gets damaged.

Yeah, those points (bold) are the only downfalls to that base.

99% of the time i see that not working. Unless your team knows what you are doing and the aliens don't catch on. Running someone there though when the aliens are still in that base, and they almost always are, you have a high high risk of ruining the game.

I only ever move there as a last resort. It's good for holding the alien team off until s3 (at which point adv. dragoons can take their pick of either sniping a structure from below or jumping in and chomping it).

Edit: What is this poll about? Whether the base is possible? Or whether it's possibly the oddest base?

Those small places are really nice for a base, nothing odd about it.

I built this sweet base on the pump station::

one downside is that it takes a repairman to keep them happy, but that's true of any forward turret setup.

if you have a constant flow of marines, you can afford to keep a jet builder up there to both obstruct and distract the dretches as well as to repair the turrets

You mean the vent out of the elevator? I've gotten a reactor, node, and turrets in there on the human side.  =]

I fought a game where humans crammed their enitire base in that spot...
But I got my team using maras in the side vent while hummies were trying to put turrets in there... That meant we each got a little damage from turrets, and then hopped into h base to gnaw at some buildings, and walkong hummies' heads to rack up some evos :P

That was a wicked game xD

Done using no cheats, all three vents were accessible.

It doesn't look like there's any base defence stopping maras / basis slashing the reac

Note the turret bridge between the arm and medi. Don't forget your jetpacks!

@TinMan: No, I meant, if you are a granger in either the red or blue base, position yourself at an angle pointing at the elevator. Then select to build overmind, then slowly glide over it.
