Complaint against Cobina.net Mod
« on: May 20, 2007, 08:49:12 am »
Hey there,
I know the drill about complaining against mods, you go to the site, and lodge a complaint.
Problem with Corbina.net is that its all in Greek (or summin like that) and is a huge telecom conglomerate, of which the Tremulous server is just a hobby of one of its 10 bazillion employees. You cant exactly lodge a complaint in that kind of place.

Anyway, what had happened was that I, {MMD}DarkNinja{4}, had logged into the Corbina.net server for a game on ATCSzalpha-b2 at 8:35 and upon logging in had found a cetain |NB|Bl!tz@TNG flooding and spamming with the message

"Lets go over to my server, (forgotten)!"

All I simply said was

"Lets not"

Because not only was I bothered that a moderator on a server was simply advertising his own server (in a freakishly chummy way), but that he was abusing his powers and kicking all that didnt agree with him. The next thing I saw was:

Server Disconnected: Reason, you have been kicked

The reason bit is the funny bit though:

"for noob"

This lasted for 1.6 minutes.

So I waited for 1.6 minutes cos I love ATCSzalpha-b2, logged in and calmy explained that it was disturbing that moderators on a server were advertising their own server, then kicking people when they thought this just wasnt right.
Sounds like the Ohkrana to me.
Anyway, I said:

"Anyway, I just wanna have a good game"

Then came a familiar message:
You have been kicked

Reason:
(and I quote)
"for stup up"

Who knows, maybe I touched upon a sensitive issue for him and he didnt like it.
Perhaps Im just being sensitive, but I thought that moderators were not picked for being stuck up 10-year old brats who wail and cry when some1 doesnt agree with them.
Anyway, I just wanted that Corbina.net reviews its moderator selection.
"YOU SHOULD JUST MOVE TO ANOTHER GODDAMED SERVER, N00b!!"
I hear you say.

Well that isnt the point, this is the polar opposite of a good mod, and thus should not be one. Its the principal idea of a moderator, to improve games by using their powers fairly and wisely.

Unless he uns the server, in which case I can understand a few pposts that say that Corbina is a rubbish server.

(longest post ive ever made...)

This thread screams "LOCK ME!"
If my answer to your problem doesn't seem helpful, it means I won't help you until you show some effort to fix your problem yourself!
1.2.0 release's been delayed for 5:48:00 already because of stupid questions.

You aren't the moderator police.. neither am I and chances are no one else here is either. There are 100s if not billions of bad moderators/admins out there. Arguing with them never results in a "oh.. you're right I'm so sorry" moment, and unless you get lucky and the admin rides in here on his flying pig and doesn't have some personal attachment that lead that mod to become a mod in the first place, then chances are that person will remain there mocking you with inconsequentially short kicks...
Best thing to do is trick him into going to your server and then kick him for 1.7 min.. > : D
