I use GNU/Linux because I am a smelly cheapass hippie that is too much of a scrooge to pay for a proper operation system. I also ignore all the problems my GNU/Linux distribution has, because it's not Windows and therefore it's better, even if it doesn't work.

man mount

Ever heard of Windows XP pirated Edition? I own a copy. Another guy I talked to said the same thing lava amount "man mount" without the quotes, but nothing happened, it said it couldnt find man. I do how ever get these errors when I boot:

Boot Normally:

BusbyBox 1,1,3 [debian 1:1,1,3 - 3UBUNTU3] built in shell (ash) Enter 'help' for a list of builtin commands.
Sh: Can't access tty; job control turned off
(initramfs)

Boot in recovery mode:

SCSI device sda: writecache: enabled, readcache: enabled, doesn't support DPO or FUA

====

It would appear something doesn't work in my computer lol.
so confusing, something is going worng thats for sure

The forums at www.linuxquestions.org might help.

Do other operating systems (other linux distros, windows, etc) install and work correcly?

linuxquestion.org I will go check that out right now. Yea WindowsXP installed correctly, I had windows 2000 on here just for the hell of it once. No errors happen during install at all. I have never used another linux distro, I heard ubuntu was a good one for starters so I kinda was gonna start with that.

What? Your Linux distro comes without manpages? If you just open a term and enter 'man mount' without the ' ', it should just open the manpages for the 'mount' command. If not, get a proper distrubution or fix your installation.

I am using nthe live CD now, found a site through the link you sent me Taiyo.uk , found another problem same thing, one guys mobo just plainout doesnt support it, and someone's site said to add something to a file, I am rebooting now, see if that works, if not maybe ill get another distro like you recommend LavaCroft

I havent tried 'man mount' in my terminal yet, I only tried that in the boot up "dos like" setting...

Maybe I didnt mention before, im using Ubuntu 7.04

Simply just wanted to move it to its own section to keep it ontopic in one thread.

In update: What I did didn't work, just messed up the install, will install later on a fresh copy.

The trem community most likely won't be willing to answer questions outside of tremulous, you'd get better responses on these forums: http://www.ubuntuforums.org/
Code: [Select]
Linux: ~/.tremulous/base/
Mac: ~/Library/Application\ Support/Tremulous/base/
Windows: C:\Documents and Settings\username\Local Settings\Application Data\Tremulous\base\
