Tremulous will always be in my heart, but it happened to me that I've become curious about Natural Selection. I've heard so much about it, that I wanted to try it for myself. Of course, without spending a penny

. And with the power of the internet, I thought I'll d succeed. I was wrong

.
The first problem I had was to get Half-Life 1. With the power of (almost) legal torrents, that wasn't much of a problem.
The biggest problem was the program Steam. A sucky program you
must have to play the game. I avoid it by getting a Non Steam version of HL1. Then, I installed ns, but it failed. After pressing
Change game --> Natural Selection --> Ok I got the backround of the NS-menu and than it crashed. The power of the internet has failed me

.
But the Allmighty Internet brought me a gift.... Google. And with Google I found this:
Non Steam version of Natural Selection v3.2 so you don't need Steam to run it

(note: Happy!!!). The file was HUGE, but wanted to play that game so I had to. Installed it and runned it. And what-do-you-know.... It worked!!!

Menu worked, backround music worked and I had a huge list of servers!! (note: Happy!!

). But than...... disaster......
invalid CD key
NOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!
Conlusion:
You have to buy Half Life to get a cd key, but you don't really need Steam to play NS.
