Patch bend mode in GTK 1.5
« on: May 27, 2007, 09:11:15 pm »
I cant seem to find the tool for bending a patch, like a pipe. Was it removed in 1.5, or moved, or what?

All I know is that they removed/omitted it in the 1.5 releases, but it's a trivial task to bend patches without the help of a tool.

Yea, gtk is way different than the other tools i have used. I have used the one for halo, the one for Crysys engine, and a few others.

Any tutorials on how to bend a patch lava?

Just use vertices (hotkey V) for the dirty and slow way. But it does give you the most control over patches. Generally for a 90 degree bent pipe you need to do the following vertice layout looking from the side of the curve. This is simply the curve part. You may want to highlight the code blocks to see it more clearly.

Code: [Select]

.   .
. .
. . .

This is a pipe bent with some straigth ends on when using the vertices.
Code: [Select]

.   .   .
.   . .
.   . . .

    . . .
I’m busy. I’ll ignore you later.

Thanks.
No it isnt fusion, i dumped that map because it was beyond the gaming engine's capibility, and took up space way too quickly (map half finished= 943 mb)

Hey Paradox, as a mod it might be nice to show off some skills beyond the average forum user and actually use the Search function to find Ingar's tutorial on bending patches.

[EDIT] Might be nice if I actually read what I link to
