interesting distraction tactic- arachnid map

basically on arachnid u get a granger on the pipes and into the vent over the human base( possible only at s1)
an egg is placed in the vertical vent
quickly followed by kamikaze acid tewb builds...
the humans will end up with tewbs around their nodes, and that is a pain in the @$$

 in the meantiem a lisk could destroy the human base in about 2 minutes...

I actually love the idea.
INFACT, let me build apon it !

We build a egg up our shaft, and then, instead of puttimg 'tewbs' all over the place, we barricade them all straight back to hell !

However, this would need many grangers (10+) to pull off. Heres a basic picture.

What we want to do, is make sure that all the grangers attack at once, and while the turrets are occupied, one of the grangers manages to build a hovel. Once its built, a similar attack is again launched (About 10 minutes later, once they regroup). This time, however, one of the grangers must make it into the hovel. He must come out later, when the humans are moving a their reactor. During this time, the granger is unleashed, and...uh...you know, spits and bites until the reactor (Which isnt built yet)  is no more.

And you think the humans will just allow that hovel to sit in base?

[rant]One thing that pisses me off about humans, is they always shoot that lone acid tube that is obviously away from A base. If they were to search for eggs and destroy them untill that acid dies from lack of creep then they'll have actually destroyed something of importance to the aliens: a forward base.[/rant]

[prediction]
Aliens win because humans lack a reactor AND a repeater, so the turrets are unpowered.  The granger runs away and sets up instadeath for any spawning human.  Humans are too busy dealing with dretches to kill eggs, and die one by one only to respawn into an acid tube storm.  Once a dretch can get away and go goon, it finishes pwning the human based.

This idea reminds me of a tactic I occasionally employ. I like to call it EXTREME-CONSTRUCTION!!

So long as you have an enemy defence to kill you (nearby but not adjacent to your spawn) you don't have to worry about the build timer. Just make sure some enemy doesn't steal the kill. Perfect tactic for the impatient.

I wonder if I'll still be able to do this in 1.2..
