From the GtkRadiant forum:

I know the actual developers (Shaderman and namespace) don't want to work anymore on Gtk, but can we expect some new bugfix version (maybe in the long term)?

There is a minor chance that someday new people might pick up gtkr development.

It will really be abandoned if no one assumes the project.

isn't GtkRadiant already fully featured anyway?

New id games don't even use it anymore. Quake 4 has it's own editor and ETQW will have it's own as well.

It is not 'complete'. There are a lot of things missing people would like to see in it and still some bugs not worked out. I for one am hoping any future developers would include a choosable legacy mode bringing the 1.5.0 positives in combination with the old faithful one's method of operation like the z-bar.
I’m busy. I’ll ignore you later.
