how do you host a server?

i've been tryong to host a server by creating one ingame, but it doesn't show up on the server list?
anyone got any help? tips maybe

You have to start tremulous with dedicated set to 2 in order to get it to send heartbeats to the master server (so it appears on the list).

Assuming you're using windows, create a shortcut to tremulous.exe that runs:

tremulous.exe +set dedicated 2 +exec server.cfg
