United States Tremulous Association

I think this should be an actual tremulous association. USTA, kinda funny if you are a tennis player. Anyway, the clans that operate should function totally under this group. Although it restircts any freedoms that the clans could have if not in it, it would provide more organization. I thought it would be interesting. And this group of elite people would be able to provide tournaments for all US, I think Canada and Mexico also, players. I think it would take a huge organization effort though. Still, I think this should be upheld.  8)

If you want to organize tournaments, sounds great. You'll actually have to do this successfully for a period of time for anyone to take them seriously.
But an overlord clan idea will never work. Why would anyone want that? The only benefit would be tournaments, but you don't need a clan that restricts other clans for that.

Isn't this, like, a crappy version of TremLeague?

Might be a generic TremLeague but then again TremLeague is generic due to the fact its never gonna happen.
We've been hearing about TremLeague for months and nothing.

N.A.C.A.

North American Clan Association.

If you were going to make something like that I like this name better.

how about NATCO?

if it had four conferences, one for each time zone (okay maybe six to include Nova Scotia & Alaska)

it could have matches on, say Tuesdays and Saturdays at 8 pm local time
scrims Mondays and Thursdays at 8 pm local time
tournaments on Sunday afternoons at 1 pm and 4 pm
Wednesdays and Fridays would be 3v3s and pickup matches
of course you'd need maybe four servers per time zone
if there were enuff clanz
then the best clanz from each different region could meet once a month
just brainstorming...
West vs. Mountain & Central vs. East on last Saturday of every month (8 pm Mountain & Eastern time)
winners play winners on Sunday at 4 pm [whichever team is farther east] (1st & 2nd place)
losers play losers on Sunday at 1 pm [whichever team is farther east] (3rd & 4th place)

scrims 3v3 best of 5 (A/H-ATCS; A/H-ATCScargo/Zalpha/UTCSb; ?-Karith/Niveus/Nexus)
matches 5v5 best of 3 (A/H-ATCS; ?-ATCScargo/Zalpha/UTCSb)
tournaments 5v5 best of 7 (A/H-ATCS; A/H-ATCScargo/Zalpha/UTCSb; ?-Karith; ?-Niveus; ?-Nexus)

?=winning team chooses sides for next game
(losing team chooses map after winners choose Alien or Human)

Good idea but you would need at least 2 clans per time zone to do your idea, so maybe for now just have 2 maybe 3 zones for now. Also if you are in or are the leader in of a clan that would like to join this association, please say here.

Thusly:
Western Conference
Monday 8 pm: Scrims 3v3, best of 5
Tuesday 8 pm: Matches 5v5, best of 3
Wednesday 8 pm: Scrims, Pickup Games, Open Play
Thursday 8 pm: Scrims 3v3, best of 5
Friday 8 pm: Scrims, Pickup Games, Open Play
Saturday 8 pm: Matches 5v5, best of 3
Sunday 1 & 4 pm: Regional Tourneys 5v5, best of 7

If you could get 3 to 4 clans to all field at least two 3-player scrim teams and one 5-player match team per clan, you could have a pretty good association, and people would only have to commit to making one scrim and one match per week to stay in the standings (but people who play a lot might get weighted scores, so lucky stiffs who played once don't get some kind of status, except as flukes). Players would have to play in one tourney per month (or, say they just couldn't play on Sunday, they could play in X number of scrims [12?] or Y number of matches [3?]). Any player who remains inactive for more than three weeks starts again with 0 kills (can be reinstated). Clan/squad wins remain intact. Each clan could have two squads, Home and Away or Blue and Gold or HaXX0rz & K4mp3rz, or whatever. Anywayz...u get t3h idear

maybe the guild, which is not a clan, would be the best choice to administrate such an association of competitive players?

Technically yes, but we're all to lazy at the moment. Also we still have a long list of things that are pending to be done (god do we have lists) before we pick up any new projects. Not that I'm hinting at anything, but maybe you guys should be a little patient and something will come around SOON.
