SST possibly now has lower European and Asian pings?

Paradox

Our hosting provider reciently connected to Tiscali.net with a gigabit connection, this is what their press release said:
QuoteVPLS.net has added a new Gigabit link to Tiscali.net which will strengthen our routes to Europe and Central Asia. Tiscali.net was chosen over other providers because of their strong presence in Europe and fast connections. Latency between Krypt.com and major German and Turkish ISP's have decreased by as much as 100ms!!

Hopefully this will allow European gamers who complain about ping to have another server that should be lower ping. Anyone notice any significant ping change?

I'm pretty sure a Gigabyte connection is close to impossible right now O.o

1. You're wrong, it's over-possible.

I get it weekly, on Fridays, if I bring home a pizza.

Funny considering you were there with Me over Spring Break

Anyway, I like SST when there are few people there, it is a good place to try out the new and beta / alpha maps, as they have some very nice ones in their rotation.

Speaking as someone who lives on the West Coast of the U.S.A, this doesn't effect me much, but glad to know my ping may have dropped from 20ms to 18ms

even with a ping of 19 these guys would still lucispam me to death

Its all about the money guys, if you got the money you can sure as hell get a Gigabyte of connection.  I done discussed it, it can be done if you got the money, and I am pretty sure you will go broke getting this type of connection.
World Wide Server Host

David

It is impossible for a home user.
However I was reading the janet site today, and there peerings list has many 10 gigabit connections.
And you can buy 10gb routers etc on-line.

Various places, mainly research labs, have upwards of 100gb connections.

Cern are planing on shifting vast amounts from the LHC, which will produce petabytes  each year.
