Which alien is king of the hill? Is it the terrible tyrant or the deadly dretch or perhaps the basilisk?

That's probably transit (though that train is grey).

I get most kills with dretch and Dragoon probably, but for me its between Adv. Marauder (rocks for annoying bad human builders) and Adv. Basilisk which is one of the hardest classes to play though, its very l33t ;)

I'd say it's opposite of truth - it's very lame, because it requires lame opponents who go everywhere with their starting machinegun, no light armor, no helmet, no teammates.
If 95% of population (or more) can't use basilisk efficiently against experienced opponents, and can use any other class except that one, then it speaks for itself. Hmm, time to change my signature.

I voted for advanced marauder. Kickass taunt sound, potential, cool zap, flexibility....
f you have a demo of ass-kicking basilisk playing against experienced opponents, ESPECIALLY in later stages, send it to me.

I can do well enough with Adv Marauder (Great for taking out Battlesuits as they run back to base for ammo - jump in front of them to keep them from running and slash away) and the Dragoon, but my favourite will always be the Basilisk. It only costs one frag, excels at intercepting human groups on their way to your base and best of all it's available from the start of the game. =)

Granger... I love hidding eggs, running arround the map and make human unable to eradicate us totally... And when friends get Tyrants...

May be, it can be a coward beaviour, but, it seem to be more efficient that build defences... I have also a bit too lag (no french server close so...) and far less skill for the other class (but with the dretch it can be quite easy to hide and ambush... Niark ! ).
'm sorry for my poor language : it is not my native...

O RLY?

Quite funny since I rarely play against a team of newbies. You probably don't get it that this game has been played by other people (most of which now are quite skilled and experienced in trem) before march 31st.  But whatever, if you don't believe that people have played games without noobs feeding or humans camping, I can't do much to convince you otherwise. Whoring classes like the dragoon is awful easy right now, or just jumping into a human base with a marauder (75% of the time, humans kill the other stuff for you). But before trem was standalone things like this didn't happen as often, as people knew what they were doing, and there was actual teamwork in place. Hell, before standalone release I thought dragoon was underpowered, now I think quite the opposite, after having a lot of cannon fodder to test with. Adding something productive to this post, Maybe we'll see in a month or two how the game developes and if everyone gets to at least a certain knowledge level of how the game works. Since in my opinion this is what makes a tremulous player great over the other good/skilled players, knowing the game inside out, and being able to kick ass with every single weapon and class in the game (even the blaster!).

My favorite is the dragoon.  I like the non-advanced because it is available at S1 and has a slightly smaller collision model.  I still switch up to dragoon+ when they are available, but overall goon is best.

Of course you have to like the dretch.  If you don't then your experience as an alien will be less enjoyable.

I used to like marauders alot, but their vertical mobility tends to be limited as it requires well positioned walls to jump off of.  Plus the zap attack just isn't like the olden days.

I always get owned if I go basilisk, so I've mostly given up on them.

My favorite is Dragoon.

It's availible from stage 1, and pouncing really reminds me of laserjumping in Nexuiz, except I get to kill people by doing so.  It's great fun.

Dretch rules. Most of my games as alien are spent entirely as a dretch till stage 3, after which I switch to tyrants for obvious reasons. I must admit I also suck with all the other alien classes (except tyrant, where there really aren't that many ways to suck), but I feel even if I didn't, dretch would still be my favorite class. In my opinion, dretches are the life and blood of this game, and one of the things that add more fun to it, either by playing as them or against them.

For me it has to be the Advanced Marauder - in my noobie hands it's not exactly a killing machine against anything but poorly armoured folk, but it wears the strongest down and is a bugger to hit..it also is great distraction if you're trying to protect a near-dead team-mate.

The zap attack seems more fun than terribly effective, though I've noticed that you have a bunch of grouped turrets, it seems to wear and chain a bit..though the amount of bouncing around needed to avoid being ripped apart, whilst still staying near enough is a bit too hard atm.

The last thing is the amount of noise that it makes when getting hit...on one side thats a con, but quite good if you want to feign and pull off people from a group i.e. wait for a couple of squeals (whilst still being 100+ hps) run off, wait around the corner..and it's spread-out crunchy humie time! :)

The Advanced Marauder - yours for a bargain 3 Kills.

edit: Howie - the snipe will work with middle button..its quite strong, but drops off annoying quick

I know how to do it, but not how to use it effectively..
I have that with a lot of functions in this game, you need to know how to use them properly before you can actually use it at all..

Basilisk, because it's benefits easily outweigh it's costs.

Dragoon sniping is mostly made for taking out structures, its quite nice to take out defense computers and armouries, as it only takes 2 barbs to kill them.

I like the dretch the most, just cuz it's so fast and rather difficult to hit when handled properly ... second is tyrant, and third adv dragoon ... sniping ain't too accurate, and you don't have too much health.

Basilisk by far.  It is the easiest class to rack up frags with during S1.  Dragoon is a gimp class cause you can easily pwn s1 and even some s2 humies and it is available during s1.  But I love Basilisk the best :)

Hmm, there's not that much too it as far as I can see!  I think the missile seems to drop off more that the human weapons, so you have to aim higher for further off objects..apart from that.  Shooting moving objects is pretty much pot luck, but structures you can do a test shot to see how much it'll drop off then adjust accordingly...or am I missing something?

I just got owned by an Adv. Drag as a jetpack..
He jumped up and shot his barbs at me, i instantly fell a bit but managed to stay high, he did it again and i got even lower, that's when the tyrants ate me up.. :D

Dretch! But only during the first 10 minutes and in the last 10 minutes when battlesuit+Luzifer-Humans, blind and proud, can't get you and spending 10 minutes to get you with the BIG Guns! So much fun!
