My attempt at compiling Tremulous from SVN - Please Help
« on: June 22, 2007, 05:06:42 am »
Well, I figured out how to compile Tremulous from sub-version on my Mac, entirely because of Benmachine (He is awesome in my opinion!). Well, after compiling, and applying vcxzet's "backportlight" patch, my server still worked. I moved ui.qvm, cgame.qvm and game.qvm to my base/vm folder, so that my server would use the features of Sub-Version. Well, lucky me, it worked. Then, when I tried to join a server several of my clan-mates were on, (Zilla Server, in case it matters) I found that an error had crashed Tremulous. I went back to Benmachine's compiling guide and realized that I had made a mistake, I had been using the Tremulous.x86 compiled for the server (using the backportlight patch file) instead of the client one (compiled using the backport901 patch file) so, once again, after applying the patch, I launched Tremulous, only to find that it quit with the error "Sys_Error: recursive error after: ^3menu file not found: ui/menus.txt, using default"

Anyone that can help me, please do.

you can't use an svn client with 1.1 vms, and pretty much all public servers force you to use the vms that came with tremulous, or vms compiled for the same client.

Oops - Sorry I didn't edit the previous post, I didn't want to make it too long. This problem is simply fixed by downloading Risujin's Backported 931  Sorry about that.
