dont you hate whiners?
« on: April 19, 2006, 03:02:01 pm »
ok so i'm a dragoon, and a human comes up to me and i lock him in a corner and kill him. he says: "KRAZYKAIN YOU F****G BLOCKER NOOB!!!!"

how is that a noob act? blocking his escape is smart and tactical..

another one i hate
"stupid humans base camp!!"
well its the way the game works, humans will leave eventually but if aliens are waiting outside the base, they will base camp, its obvious. besides the aliens attack anyway and get themselves killed, its their fault!

anyway those annoy me and i'm sure theres more.. post your hated complaints here!

Always fun too: rambo's who go out and get the aliens up to level 3 and then fire insults at the team because they blame the others for losing.

I admit i whine a lot actually.
But i hate it sometimes, i come home and want to play a nice relaxed round of Tremulous.
What do you get?, feeders, campers, noob-builders, and so on.
It drives me completely CRAZY sometimes

I always laugh when someone accuses the humans of camping.

Generally anything apple says is usually whining or crying. Maybe next time you hear a lot of people whining in a game it's usually just apple spamming a bunch of times.

Stay in the base! BASE IS SAFE!!

Campers just drag the game out and almost never win unless the A team is retarded, then they get upset because they lost even though they made a 50 turret wall in the front.
LOCK MORE!

I hate it when noob-builders build turrets in front but forget there are other entrances aswell.
When you remove some turrets and replace them they get all 'FU NOOB, STOP DESTROYING BASE'alike
I just want to make those guys their monitor to explode in their faces

Another thing I don't like is poorly placed repeaters.

You don't build a row of turrets, and then build the repeater in front of them.  I've only seen it a few times, but it really pisses me off.

Actually there are valid reasons to place repeaters before the defenses. Remember that repeaters function as ammo stations for energy weapons. That said one should take care to have a repeater behind (or at least in) the defense line as well.

In addition you can sometimes distract the enemy by placing repeaters all over the area. Some people go after them instead of attacking the base.

Dont foget also that repeator explode when they aren't powering anything for 30 secondes... That can be used as free bombs (relativly inneficient, but free and disturbing as it can suggere that humans are building an extention...).

Dont forget also that it is impossible to build a repeator in an already powered area.

Dont forget that this game is also a psycologic battle...

I am totally with you greewi! This IS a psychological battle! We all are here because we're bored with stupid shoot-and-run games!

That's what makes Tremulous diffent! It's tactical, radical and strategical.
And whining about these facts that effects in sniping, camping and all other nice tricks just makes it obvious that they are in the wrong game.

Don't whine about whiners, kick their asses! (is there an instant kick-ass button ??? should be implementet soon! ;)

But I also agree with people who are annyed by noobs rebuilding the base! But hey, teach them, take your time to make them understand what you're doing and tell them what exactly to do.
I hope the community isn't growing too fast that we're going to get spammed by noobie-players!

keep it kinky ;)

Actually such a noob overrun did happen when standalone was released. From what I've seen though it's slowly getting better lately (though I've never played before standalone).

And personally I wouldn't mind even more tactical/strategical play :).
