Xfire Username Thread - Updated July 10

Ok someone asked for a thread on it.. I felt I should make it for unknown reasons.

I will accept anyone who adds me, just please, make sure your name is something like that of here on trem.net. Post yours, I will add it to the list. If you want it taken off, I will also do so

I will color code it so if people are looking for scrims, they will be able to contact a leader quickly by seeing the table. Please update your info by posting here or by Private Message. Will be happy to change it

Hopefully this will show everyone who to contact for scrimming, and who is currently not in clans, but may be looking. Please, leaders/co-leaders include the clan name you are with.

Just a few updates ago xfire added in the /me command. Beat that Whenever Ive been on IRC. Hardly anyone ever talks. I could record the room for 24 hours, might get maybe if we're lucky 100 different lines of text.

I know more people must use xfire... wouldn't you all like to let your friends from tremulous.net talk to you in an IM conv.

Wouldn't you guys like to screw xfire's statistics up and get tremulous on the top ten list for minutes played today? It takes everyones time!

If I have done my calculations right...

CoD Multiplayer has 1.050.860 Minutes today ATM divided by 60 is:

17515 Hours
If we had enough player to beat that running trem 24 hours a day..

17515 / 24 = 715

So 715 tremulous players running the client at once... hmm theres rarely that many people on at that time

Still... we could do it... and it would be nice publicity for tremulous. Theres gotta be at least 4000ish players world wide, if we each played 6 hours a day, with xfire of course.. that would hit the mark. Wait Linux users aren't included because xfire doesnt support linux Operating Systems yet...

i can't remember the exact statistics, (and i can't find the thread atm) but i think the logs on this forum showed a plurality of people using linux, and a majority not using windows. without going significantly out of your way, there is no way to get xfire working, and i don't really see any reason why xfire is so great.

i don't really care, if anything it would be a bad thing because it would attract a lot of immature players (or that is my experience with xfire users so far, which is rather limited)

And I also agree, besides how much time you've wasted and seeing where your friends are at, it doesn't do much.  And besides, people have written "custom" server browsers to for a lot of quake mods. Most of which use qstat. Some of which would allow you to add names for it to search and see where they are at.
