Installation problems in Ubuntu 7.06

I am running Ubuntu "Feisty Fawn", and for the life of me I cannot get this game running properly.   I've downloaded it directly from here and installed it that way, I've gotten it through the Synaptic Package Manager and installed it that way.  Either way, once I run the game, it very briefly shows a black screen with loading text (showing that it's calling packages or something, I can't tell because it shows up too fast) and then just reboots my machine.  Is there an easy fix for this?  I can't see anything in the FAQ.

Whats the console output?
