I can go on for hours of weird bands name as we've had this same thread elsewhere before.

Go ahead and google wierd band names and watch what comes up.

the Chesterfield Kings are a great band from Smokey's hometown (Rochester, NY) and my era (1983)

Tin, I like your music tastes!  I have some recommendations for you:

The Anniversary
Doves
Voxtrot
Peter, Bjorn and John
Arcade Fire

All solid indie bands - The Anniversary has two albums and they are totally different.  I like them both, but be sure to listen to both before you make a judgment about the band.
