With default client game works ok but I cant change brightness. I tried different ways how to do it bur I cant. I will be very happy if you can help me.

Hmm never seen this one before but i could think the problem is with registry, your graphics driver didn't set the keys properly, or the new client just got something wrong (Or you should have custom opengl.dll, or you should have compiled it using different patch of opengl (If using SVN)).

Start by letting us know what is this "new version of client"?

Complete Tremulous startup log would help.
If my answer to your problem doesn't seem helpful, it means I won't help you until you show some effort to fix your problem yourself!
1.2.0 release's been delayed for 5:48:00 already because of stupid questions.

A bit more specific would have been nice.
What drivers to what hardware?
