Another Widescreen Question
« on: July 18, 2007, 08:02:37 am »
I've searched. This is "new".

I have a 22" WS, 1680x1050 res.

This is what i have done:
Code: [Select]
seta r_customHeight "1050"
seta r_customWidth "1680"
seta r_mode "-1"

seta cg_fov "110"

Screen res is set, fov setting made everyone "non-fat". But all the text and my HUD objects are extra wide, even the crosshair.

Is there a fix for this?

uhm... "cg_fov" is changeable?
Wasn't this write protected because the aliens have different FOVs?

cg_fov seems to make a difference on the servers I play on..and gives no messages when I change it.

anyway, is it impossible to fix up my HUD objects and text so it's not extra wide?

since you're already modifying your hud, you can make all objects thinner in proportion to the resolution change (i just spent 2 hours doing triple integrals, so i'm too tired to do the math for you)

I have the same resolution, but I never changed cg_fov. Everything looks great on my screen.

Yeah, i thought it was supposed to look "normal" once i did those settings, no one else seems to have the same problem as me  :-?

dum question, wrong autoexec.cfg?
Additional question: what is the difference between widescreen and normal screen for the view area? is the widescreen missing out on top/bottom (cut off), or does it have more left/right?
