With 100 BP, humans have 6 BP leftover, and aliens have 4 BP. Since aliens have some sort of advantage in unlagged, 1 extra turret won't hurt either team if we do 102 BP. Hell, I'd even go for 104 since this way aliens can have an extra acid. Also, keep in mind humans have to build armory and medical station, none of which the aliens have an alternative to (until S2).

I also think 100 is the default because it just sounds like a good number, no significant value.

I personally have only played on TJW's server a few times. I've heard that it's not as great as people had hoped.

mgmg is currently running almost the same code as tjw's server (currently the only difference is a patch to allow building near the door doors again). most of the people who complain about the gameplay changes are those who hate change because it means they have to relearn how to build or how to deal with the regen (or that tyrant no longer owns everything 1 on 1 for no good reason). most of us have been playing on tjw's since it was a 175bp server running pretty much stock trem, so we have gotten used to the changes and actually prefer them to 1.1 (though that one week with 1hp/sec regen off creep and the regen aura still on tyrants really sucked; and despite the 90% alien wins when the regulars were around, the week with 80/80/80 zap was hilarious).

you are welcome on both mg mg and trem.tjw.org as long as you don't complain about the changes before playing at least a week with them (the servers tend to be empty most of the time, but you can almost always get a game started if you poke us in irc, and once a game is going they fill up pretty fast)

Humans have advantage until aliens get goon, then it's over. Later on, humans get advantage again in S2, and if they are good, they can even keep that advantage if alien hits S3.

Yup, but with unlagged, it is extremely harder to dodge a goon. Without unlagged, you have a much higher chance to dodge a goon because they have to assume where you are before they hit, instead of having your actual position. If you have unlagged, it'd be like playing battleship when you already know the enemy ships positions. Could be personal experience, but I do think that unlagged makes it a hell of a lot harder to kill a goon before he kills you.

i find the exact opposite to be true, but anecdotal evidence doesn't carry much weight (although it's likely you had issues because you were playing against players used to unlagged while you weren't)

My goon was perfectly fine without unlagged because I had good ping.(48) The goons bite has a wide range for a reason, couple that with good ping and its not hard to kill someone without unlagged.

I prefer unlagged tho, everyone who bitches about it is expecting it to fix ping issues when it really doesn't.  Unlagged to me is meant to remove the lead on for everyone with good ping.

It is so hard to dodge a high ping(150+) goon in unlagged if their good.

We must agree on a neutral server, though.  I cannot play on the OPP server for some reason - I freezed very often, and it was not client side.  Nor was I faking a 999, as Beerbastard claimed.  FreaK was also freezing periodically.  It was basically 3v4 because of this issue.  Since you have a problem with the Zubs server for unstated reasons, would you agree to match on the new Zilla server? The settings could be tweaked to both of our clan's liking.  That is, if Bull is alright with it.

I don't mean to whine, but I would like to prevent these problems in the future.  It is best to solve it on the forums so we can start scrims more quickly in-game.

If you are the only one experiencing problems(and you are) It isn't server side. Its clientside or your ISP. One of the problems on your server is range, Even dracone admitted it was "Insane"

I did not suddenly start 'bitching' about my spiking issue.  I brought the issue to attention before the scrim began, and suggested a change of server.  You refused.  I still don't understand why.  You say 'it was our turn,' but that is really just a schoolboy's reason.  Our server runs Lakitu7's qvm with default speed and 102 bp, etc.  Range was not altered at all.  You yourself said you feel comfortable with Lakitu7's qvm, so there should not have been a problem.  I think the problem is just some of you having higher than 18 ping.  I don't mean to sound offensive when I say that.  

Part of the reason I am angry with OPP is the way you administered the scrimmage.  It was worse than what Zilla ever did.  As I continued to address the issue, you ignored me, told Am|ne (please stop calling him Anime. It is annoying.), for some reason, to 'keep your clan under control,' and even muted men, when we were being POLITE.  Only then did I start cursing, as you all seemed extremely ignorant of the fact that I could not play, and that we had a very viable server waiting, unused.  'It's our turn' is such a childish excuse.  Post the demos, if you wish.  I would not have bitched about this, had I not seen a post a few months ago in which OPP bitched about Zilla.  Ironic, heh.

That is because we will almost never have someone to sub in.  Our clan pretty much has four members (one has gone inactive for a while).  I did not want to deprive my clan of a scrim, since you were stubborn about playing on your server. So I tried to play, realized I couldn't when I froze, teleported to the bottom and died, and then just sat in base for almost the entire game.  I came out once or twice. You may think that is a contributing player, but to me, that is a waste and only drives up the killcount.

Apples spiking during the scrim
Networking 101
The internet is linked by many routers. The routers make a 'network'. When Router A wants to send a message to Router X, the packet (message) has to travel through the list of routers in between.

Packet Loss
What happens when one of those routers is slow/screwed up/down? Well, the packet finds another way. This is called Packet Loss. Of course, re-sending a packet once it has been lost takes time. This results in the game 'freezing' until this packet has been re-sent and successfully arrived to the destination. Now, the path the packet takes will vary from user to user. Apple was lagging because an important router that his packets would usually take is no longer operational/is having problems. Imagine driving home, and suddenly a road you take is closed. You have to find your way around, and this is exactly what a packet does. It will cause that user to experience 'paused games' for a few seconds.

But his ping was fine..
Sure, the 'packet' that contains the ping might have passed through the bad routers because of its size? Maybe it took a different path? I, for one, saw him 999 a couple times, meaning it did not always go through. There are many factors that come into play with packet loss (including size of packet, failure to 'pass it on', oversaturated network links, etc)

I personally don't recall getting the option to 'scrim later', but I do recall you asking us to sub someone. We only have 5 members, and one hasn't been seen in a little while. It is really bad sportsmanship saying 'Sub someone' when you clearly don't see anyone on the spectator team belonging to Zubs.

Apple usually plays offense, and he was building. And I, the builder, was playing offense instead.

High ping is far less an inconvenience than spiking and freezing for several seconds.  I also did not start insulting grammar - Twofacedrat did so when he assumed his drivel came from my mouth.

"I suggest you post the demo of the scrim. I admit, I would qualify the complaining of some of our members as whining. You accuse me of "complaining" and "whining", but I assure you the demo will show that I was trying to move away from complaining and onto continuing the scrim. Additionally, the demo will show your extremely rude response to my valid complaint of the network your server is on. Do not disregard your ignorance of how the internet works as a reason to mute people. This is not the first time you have received this complaint of packet loss. I was playing in the NT scrim against OPP and yes, we had complaints about your server.

 There came a time when we played 3 vs 4 with OPP (one of our players was AFK). Now, all our usual good players were on at the time (excluding the AFK). We reached S2 while your aliens were S1 (after several failed goons). What was your response? "I have to leave". You left, we did not go around insulting you or your clan at the time despite that extremely rude act. What is ironic is that you record every scrim, but supposedly do not have this handy. Self-denial? Maybe. There are several witnesses to this scrim BeerBastard, whether you like it or not.
 
So, back to my point, you are a hypocrite. You are an overgrown over-zealous Evlesoa. I personally hope we do not scrim OPP (with all due respect to Elmo and Equilibrium), you may keep your self-acclaimed title of "I R BEST CLAN" which you splatter all over my alias names. No one would care enough to even watch the demo, and yes you said you were lagging. We admit that.  

Still doesn't mean we always want to play on your server amine understands . If we can find a server we can both agree on I wouldnt mind playing outside OPP. If I don't know or trust whoever runs it I won't play there.
