Mhmn, phones suck in general.
These days, they are all 'flash-and-trash'.
All I want to do is make a damn call, and perhaps once every month even send a text if I really need to.
Other than that, I do not need anything other than a portable music player for out-of-fortress entertainment.

In my opinion, flash phones = toys for women.
For all the men out there, the PRC-351

6kg of battlefield communication goodness.

Or, a phone for those who want something more...'lightweight'.

The PRC-349 - I have one myself.

Put it this way, if your mobile communications device cannot function after taking a 5.56, or after dropping from a height of 10 meters, it is not a real phone. You are using something for women.

Ask yourself what you do most with a multi-fraking-tool and if you really need the unused options...

As for the iphone?
It is nothing but a rip-off, granted, it can do a bit more than just modulate voice.

But why does it not have wifi?
Why is it only available sim-locked?
Why is it only moderate in every respect to its "multi-purpose-functions"?

Buy a pda and a cheap cell-phone and you are way better off.
If you want all in on, go for a BlackBerry or  a Helio.

Oh yeah, there will never be a reason I'll let my hardware manufacturer dictate what phone-plan I'll use.

still: "epitome of failure in modern culture"? sounds good, but a little conflated for me. i could say the same for Vista. :roll:

P.S. I ain't got one, don't need one, ain't buying one, and wouldn't use one. My cellphone is 70 feet away and turned off. Not only that, I'm waiting for three phone calls right now. The only PDA I use is a post-it note. Or very occasionally, this laptop. The Apple-bashing sycophantic "me, too"-ism was just getting a little too deep for someone not to take the piss out of you back-slappers. "Yeah, they suck!" Puh-lease. I could care less what gadgets anybody hates. Or even loves for that matter. Apple vs. Microsoft is about as engaging as Republican vs. Democrat or Coke vs. Pepsi or MSNBC vs. Fox. I'm so apathetic I don't even not care.

Nah, I own an N800 and I just have to say that pocket sized touch screens suck if you don't have a bluetooth keyboard for it.
And my Cingular/AT&T is fine, I've only had like 3 dropped calls in 4 years.
