I mentioned this in the TJW chat. A cool feature would be to have the spectator be a floating camera, similar to the ones that are in the first Cinema on Cairo Station on Halo 2. The camera would not get in the way of anything, seeing as people could pass right through it, it would just be a little avitar of a spectator, so you could tell when you were being looked at. Here is a picture of what it could be:

Just a floating body with 2 fans.

hmm that would be neat but also the little thing would not only have to let us pass through it but it should be somewhat transparant so as it dont block our vision...

Personally I don't see any use for this. To most people it would probably be much more annoying than useful.

That solves the problem of getting confused, and it would be grey and blue, whereas a dretch is yellow and green.

But not of it being visual clutter and distracting.

A way this could be fixed is cameras are visible from, say 10 game feet, as they get closer to a character, they vanish, that would solve your problems.

alphaGen portal
blendFunc GL_ONE_MINUS_SRC_ALPHA GL_SRC_ALPHA

Drop that on a shader, the object will fade out when it gets close to the camera.

I think we might be better off without it.

it would make the game feel more like a tournament game, rather than an actual war between humans and aliens. this might be cool in halo and could be seen in Q3, UT. but not in trem

i don't see the need for such a camera thing. Anyway, what i really wonder about is what this bad-ass huge signature of paradox should be useful for. Couldn't you make it half the size? It's not THAT interesting afterall...and it makes us other users having to  scroll twice as much because of it's size.

Signatures should be limited to one line of text with no images at all
urphy's rules of combat
8 ) Teamwork is essential; it gives the enemy someone else to shoot at.
18 ) Make it too tough for the enemy to get in and you can't get out.

I think the free cam causes too much trouble, but making dead people on a team able to spectate the view of their teammates (like in ET) would be a nice addition.
