how do you post a screnshot of your desktop. i'm on a mac BTW. give me the steps and i will be happy to do so.

Apple (Command) + Shift + 4. Then when the little Crosshairs appear, select the area you want to take the screenshot over.



Or, you can use Skitch. Invite only, but I'll give you an invite if you want. It's pretty cool.

Yeah you can host it on imageshack if you want to.

Equi command-shift-3 captures your entire screen.  Google is your friend.

Here's mine, by the way:


Quicksilver is pulled up there.  I don't believe in shortcuts, menus or the dock, I just use QS.  The bar you see across the bottom is to tell me what desktop I am on (using Virtue).

(topmenu/statusbar)File>Grab>Timed Screen

3-2-1

close *.tiff (file left on desktop)

close Finder

iWeb>Site Organizer>Site>Blog>Entries

Add Entry>click on placeholder img>Mask

drag sides out, drag top up

4:3 is now 16:10

drop *.tiff into placeholder img mask (properly pre-sized)

click on text boxes & practice cleverness

resize text at will & possible peril

click on img again (*.tiff of timed grab of widescreen desktop)

click on box on bottom center edge

reach over, while holding that click, press & hold shift, transfer back

spanning shift & click with your left hand, use your right on trackpad

drag clicked box down

rinse, repeat (don't get greedy)

Publish, OK

OK, yes I want to Visit

[Safari>File>New Window

iWeb>Visit

close extra Safari Window]

Close iWeb

toggle btw Safari panes

CTRL-click thumb on Archive page

Copy Image Address

toggle pane>CMD-V



img tags

toggle pane>click on thumb>go to blogpage

highlight>CMD-C>toggle pane>CMD-V (appropriate clicks skipped for brevity)

url tags, move bracket, add equals sign

Here is mine... The Background is a photoshop work in process, so its a little plain and unfinished. I notice alot of the XP users use the Silver Theme on their toolbars and such.

I would also put up a screenie of my desktop on Ubuntu, but i'm too lazy to boot it up.
