Screenshots are too dark
« on: August 03, 2007, 10:54:16 pm »
When I first ran Tremulous, it was pitch black.  So I turned the Brightness up all the way and its fine now.  However, the screenshots I take inside tremulous (I'm using /bind F2 screenshot command) are still pitch black and far too dark to be restored with GIMP.  Any ideas?

I have gimp but these pictures are very very very dark and even after I have turned up the brightness, their quality is terrible.  Surely there is a way to get Tremulous to take screenshots with the right brightness?

Yes.  If my monitor was dying then Tremulous would be dark, my desktop would be dark, everything would be dark - not just the Tremulous screenshots.  This is not a monitor problem, this is a Tremulous problem.

That is quite dark and in darker areas (such as in the buildings) it gets even darker.  The screenshot above is of the lightest part of that map (the outdoors).

Yes, it is as light as it should be... I don't get your problem with the brightness.... :o

Edit: if i remember correctly, TJW's client will always make sure screenshotjpeg is at gamma 1.0

Set your Gamma at 1.5 please, I'd prefer not looking at that cave :P

I don't see Gamma in the options...  Are you talking about Brightness?  I have Brightness turned all the way up already.

Chocolate Milk.

That command doesn't seem to have any effect on the brightness of the screenshots, I tried turning the gamma to 1.5 as suggested and I also tried going to the extremes.  Nothing effected the screenshots...   :(
