Let's try something. Disable the goon pounce damage. I know this is the goon's special ability, but it will end a lot of accidential teamkills, and you don't need measures to disable the quick pounce-chomp combination. But please, increase the attack width, because it is hard to hit with a goon, and it will be even harder.

I mean, of course, allow the goon to chomp while pouncing.

One could use Tribes 2 style physics (pounce forward, and jump-jump-jump to minimize friction). This avoids teamkills, but gives nearly the same effect as the pouncing. So why not make it easier?

Having pounce damage makes killing easier than having to chomp manually. Therefore increase the attack width a bit, so that the goon will actually be worth 3 evos.

And it will not make your teammates angry with your TKing. For example, the dretchpunt was invented because of the goon pounce and tyrant charge.

Uhm actually, it's not that the dragoon has low attack width, it's just that it's too large for its max health. So instead of increasing the attack width, maybe make the goon smaller a bit.

If you are worried about TKs, play on servers with no pounce friendly fire, such as the Zubs server. Or, stop looking at aliens when you pounce into them. Two simple solutions.

I really don't worry about TKs, as I easily avoid them (I don't remember when I TKd like that the last time).
The goon thing was just a suggestion, what COULD be done. Guess noone likes it.
And yes, I prefer mara over goon.

This i agree. It's pretty reasonable and i always felt the size gap between mara and goon was big. This would tone down pouncing a little i guess and its way better than the no damage pouncing idea.

No ff on pounce/trample is also an option on servers running my qvm.

you do realize how that the chomp-in-mid-pounce is disabled on the majority of servers because it's rediculously overpowered in the hands of a good player? (and there is now a large knockback in addition to the pounce damage to further differentiate it from chomp)

I used to love when Beer Garden had no pounce damage. Goons are way more powerful without pounce damage.

The conflict seems to be not between the the ideas (how to disable the quick pounce-chomp combination), but rather between one and other persons. Lava has some "friends", and he starts to flame. Their consideration is: if Lava is writing, then he is probably doing something right (bah, yeah right...). So they join up.
