I have a stupid question
« on: August 09, 2007, 12:22:17 pm »
When i set the wallwalking mode to 'toggle' and I'm on a wall and I press space then i can jump, but when my wallwalking mode is not set to 'toggle' mode (i have to hold down the crouch key to wallwalk) and then i press space to jump I can't jump I just fall down normally, just as if i would let go of shift(crouch key). This isn't happening to me because i have too many  buttons pressed at the same time. I'm just asking this because i don't like the 'toggle' mode. If u know a solution plz answer me, thx.  :)

Hmm... you know, this might actually be a bug, because holding crouch + jump is like holding no buttons at all... I doubt there is an easy solution, so get used to toggle mode, or submit a bug to bugzilla :P

Wait you can jump when your wallwalking on the wall? Falling down when pressing jump has been the norm for me  :(   and my wallwalking has always been in toggle mode.

Wait scratch that I just tested it and jumping outward from the wall does work somewhat. I guess i really never noticed it. I think ben is right get used to toggle mode.

this is correct, there is a sort of workaround for it, but that requires a client patch or cgame patch (that i'm hoping will get into 1.2, but i can't be sure)(oh and moved to technical questions)

Ok let's plan it out. Asva, you are nub, go sit on rets, I will build, you two go feed like hell, you go pwn their asses, and everyone else camp in the hallway, roger?

Ask a stupid question, get a stupid answer.

Sorry, just had to say that.

As previously suggested, you should just get used to toggle.

Learning to jump out of a walljump is yet another move to help mix up your movement sets and confuse your oponent. It's decidedly worth learning. I'd say it's about 20-30% of my dretch game.
