Hey guys, I just released a shell script that installs Tremulous mapping files  for MacRadiant 1.5 on your Mac.  Check it out if you can!

Here's the link:

Well. There are different versions of Radiant for Intel and PPC Macs.

Problem?

Here's what the script does: If you download MacRadiant 1.5 from the link that I put in the Readme, it doesn't come ready for Tremulous mapping.  MacTremMap installs all those pesky files that are needed to map for Tremulous.

Death, I just finished an Intel version for MacRadiant 1.4.  Here are the links:

Intel link:

Nice. I looked at your script, even though I couldn't run it on my computer, and I did everything that your script does. Unfortunately, I can't map. Radiant...acts up. Thanks anyway. Hopefully your Intel Version will help me. :D

Radiant has started for me before, when I attempted to set it up first. This was before I knew about the TremMappingWiki, and also on my PPC-Mac.

I'm trying it on my intel one, and I get some errors. I'll give you some screenshots.

Here is the Synapse Error Radiant Gives me:

Here is what I get after running GrooveMachine's Script: (I edited some path-names)

Here is my edited version of the script:

Here is my Radiant.log (Copied from ~/.radiant/1.4.0)

Thanks

Okay, it looks as if I may have a few problems in my script.  In your console.log file that you showed me, it shows the following:

engine path: /Applications/Tremulous/Tremulous/

when it should be this:

engine path: /Applications/Tremulous/Tremulous

without the trailing slash.  I'm not sure how that happened, because it's correct in the script.  A fix for that would be to download another script set that I made here:

http://www.divshare.com/download/1573069-5e5

The two included scripts show and hide "hidden" system files.  Since the file that you need to edit (/Users/miles/.radiant/1.4.0/global.pref) is hidden, you'll need the script for it to work.  I'm not entirely sure that that's the right file to edit,  but it's worth trying.

NOTE:  Don't be afraid if all of your files in Finder disappear for a second.  The script has to reload Finder for it to take action.

Also, my script comes with a folder that is "hidden", where the icon is a small white rectangle (thats hard to accidentally click on), and the name is " " (meaning one space on the spacebar).  I think that that may be why your Terminal is saying that there's no such file or directory.  To open that "hidden" folder, simply do a cursor-drag to highlight all files, and you should be able to see where it is.

As for your synapse error, that is probably happening because one of the files, synapse.config, wasn't moved by my script (for some reason).  A fix for that would be to go to tremmapping.pbwiki.com, and follow the step-by-step instructions there.

My number 1 tip:  Go to tremmapping.pbwiki.com.  It should walk you through all the necessary steps.[/i]

Yeah. Prior to your creation of this script, I had followed the tutorial on the TremMappingWiki, only to have the same result I do now.

God help me, what the hell is wrong with my computer?

I don't know!  How weird!  Try using Blender to map for Tremulous.  I hear it's possible, and much better.

Link:

Check it out when you can!

Yeah, I've messed around with Blender before. I'll try it, but I really want to get Radiant to work. I guess I'll emulate it via Linux.

Yeah, I would suggest either Blender or Radiant for Linux (or PPC, if you still have that computer).  I was a little unsure if I should even release an Intel version of MacTremMap, because I've heard that Intel Radiant is really difficult to work with.  Blender is supposed to be better anyway, but my problem right now is finding Tremulous tools for Blender...

I'm really sorry for replying a post this old but i've been trying to get radiant to work for a long time now on my ibook G4. I once messed around so much it screwed up Trem and I had to reinstall it. Anyway I'm trying this again and I saw this script and I say "Just what I need, don't have to do anything, just use the script" I did all the prerequisite in the read me file and I got a permission denied, then I just copy pasted the code into the Terminal (seemed logical) this is what I got

Did you make sure that the MacTremMap V1 folder is on the desktop?  Hmmmm....other than that, I'm not sure.  You might try going to tremmapping.pbwiki.com.  They have instructions on where to put certain files and stuff.  If you have an AIM Screen Name we could work out the kinks together.  I would really appreciate that.  Thanks!

Heres some files that a guy here known as Eridan gave me a long time ago. They work as far as I know. Included are setup installers for Macradiant 1.4 and 1.5. If the same files are used on Intel machines (I use ppc), then theoretically it should work fine on them.

Hey, if you're still interested in MacTremMap, check out this other program I made called MacTremFiles.  It includes a revised version of MacTremMap, but the download size is bigger because it comes with a ton of MacRadiant 1.5 (PPC only), the newest Tremulous Backport, and tons of server files.

Check it out here:

Thanks!

Hey there guys, I've been having some trouble making a new MacTremMap version because I recently installed Leopard on all of my computers.  This has been causing problems because I can no longer use MacRadiant with X11--it just stops and quits when I open it.  I could still try to develop, but it will be a challenge.  I'll start now :)

Okay guys, I just finished after a day of working on this.  I essentially started from scratch again (which was not fun).  The only problem is that the mirror for the "trem.game" folder on tremmapping.pbwiki.com is down, and no one has it.  I checked my copy of MacRadiant from Tiger, but for some reason I can't find it there either.

I'm pretty sure it will work, but could someone please test it for me (I can't run it because I'm on Leopard)?  Thanks!

Oh yeah!  The links (I MADE AN INTEL VERSION!!!):
