Best 3d Modelling Program?
« on: August 18, 2007, 08:50:56 pm »
Hey there, Im thinking of having a serious go at 3d modelling, and I was wondering what the rest of the community thought as their faveourite modelling tool.

If you know the general price for a one computer non-commercial setup, then please tell me.
If not, Ill find out myself.

This is depreciated in favour of the sculpt mode in Blender (written by the same devs)

K3D
Handy intermediate level program.

Quote from: "NiTRoX"
Wings3d
Good sub-division modeler. No animations, etc. Just modeling.

Blender
Intended to be the "do it all" program. So far it's sufficient to make animated movies (see "Elephant's Dream")

POV-Ray
There are front-ends to this such as kpovmodeler.

There is also Misfit Model 3D which does skeletal animation.
