i am dumb. i just realized my school forced us to get parallels because the software i wanted to download was supposed to be put on windows, not mac. i opened up parallels and it works. sorry for my stupidness.

He's saying that your school buys you a Mac, buys you a copy of Windows for the Mac, then buys you a piece of software that lets you run Windows on your Mac.

I think (As a Mac user) that If I was the school, I would have just bought everyone a Windows box.

Or, did you pay for the Mac, Parallels and Windows, because they required Windows / Applications for Windows that don't work on Macs.

You could of just downloaded a Linux distro and then download Wine..takes longer but cheaper (free)

we had to buy everything. we got discounts if we bought it through the school. The school just told us what we HAD to get. what kinds of college would give you a computer for free? xD
