I've both seen them and others post extremely insightful and useful posts, but only to people they are friends with. Now how the fuck does that help anyone?

It's a red badge of courage. Wear it like a cape. After your first thousand deferential posts you may even get a question answered.

Also, please actually research the profiles of people you wish to defame. Both of these guys you name spread more common sense in an hour than most people display all day.

My observation is that the admins respond to sensible questions in an appropriate manner. They dismiss questions that have been answered numerous times before, questions that are answered in the many guides and tutorials found in the first page of Google results and the questions that are plain stupid. I have no personal objection to this.

Furthermore, the apparent preferential treatment appears to be based on whether the user asking the question has earned the admin's respect or not. Again, I have no objections to this; users who spam, flame and troll on this forum should not expect help from it.
