My computer has returned to me.
« on: July 04, 2001, 03:04:00 am »
I can't believe this...
It's finally back...

...

and yet somehow I'm considering wiping the whole thing and going linux.

Don't cross your fingers though, that'd take a lot of backing up to do.

I've still got to go through ALL my files and re-familiarize myself with my own computer, but it's here.
 have seen the light...
...and it burns.

OK let me get this straight...

You got a virus that ate your hard drive
You gave your computer to somebody who was supposed to fix it
They sold it
You have no computer
Person you asked to fix your computer is now buying you a new computer

Did he tell you he was a licensed Catholic Priest as well?  Cause if so I don't think you have a very honest person on your hands...

No, he is one of my dad's friends.
Fixing computers is his job.
but he has so many computers and hardware parts laying around at home that he mixed things up and sold the wrong parts(my computer)
he HAS to buy a new one now. it would be fatal for him if he didn't,
he was so in trouble about his mistake, i had problems to calm him down again
it would ruin his buisness if too many people would get to know that
my computer was a 200mhz with 32mb ram...so Im happy to get a new one
