If my answer to your problem doesn't seem helpful, it means I won't help you until you show some effort to fix your problem yourself!

as a general rule, questions about how tremulous works go here, questions about how to make tremulous work (more commonly phrased why won't tremulous work) go in troubleshooting

You're running it from xterm or something, not from TTY, right?

I'm running a Gentoo OS.

I suggest you either go back to windows or start reading manuals, especially on how you can install the driver for your gfx-card AND on how to setup X accordingly.

It might not be unwelcome to replace the first 10 questions of the faq with "Install Proper Video Drivers".

For the record, I've been running windows OS's for the past 10 years, and I got tired of all the bullshit that microgay sends me and the countless spam and popups which I get. I'm not willing to reformat every time I get a virus, thus why I made the switch. I'm not bad at linux, I'm just not as advanced as some people.

Hey! If you want to talk about which distro's the best, go somewhere else.

Edit: deleted a sentence where I've confused Imperium and imperiumZero.

i'm not here to talk about which distro is best, but gentoo as a first distro (with no unix/linux experience beforehand) is definitely dumb.

Or the fastest way to learn how Linux works if you're smart enough, know how to google howtos, willing to spend a few weeks just solving any problem you find and there's someone who can help you if you get really stuck. Gentoo was my first and only distro I've used longer than 2 hours straight and for more than a week total. The only prior experience with UNIX were a few hours of using Fedora Core 3 which sucked really damn hard, a few hours of coding on Damn Small Linux at school (installed on my thumb drive, the other option was DOS and Pascal) and about 6 months of using Cygwin on Windoze XP. Then I've installed Gentoo from stage3 following the handbook and I haven't used Windows on my machine ever since. I've reformatted the Windows partition 6 months later and now I use only Linux.

Heck... calling a Distro an OS clearly shows he does not distinguish between anything.

And hes has not even read the first sentence on their page.
How can we expect from someone like that, that he would actually read what we write?
