It depends.

Sometimes, the human team is boxed into their base and is basically forced to camp since they can't get out.

Other times, you just have a bunch of dumbasses who find that the turrets are just too comfy.

humans are being pwnt => they tactically camp => aliens get bored or they are impatient => they rush => they would get back after taking damage, but because of the extreme lag that is introduced with turrets firing, they can't effectively calculate the time when to back off => they die or get away too soon, which is ineffective => they hate campers

Do you agree? The turrets just lag up the rush too much. Other than that, I don't really have anything against campers.

Uncreation is not a balanced map. You cannot use that as a good example.

Humans usually have to stick close to their base in s1, as they have no helmets. Call it camping if you want, i'll call it being smart and not feeding. The aliens usually camp in s1 too, right outside of the human base. Goons are a huge advantage in s1. However, if humans get s2 when aliens are s1/s2, they should most definietly venture out far to the alien base. If aliens are s3 when humans are s2, humans can still pull it off if they use teamwork.

uncreation is (statistically) the single most balanced tremulous map in existence.

You are talking about something way different. I'm not talking about just the raw ping, I'm talking about the total data latency. Lag depends on the server upload speed and physical/geographical distance.

When the server bandwidth is used to full extent (as in 10kB/s upload speed and 3-4 players), then when an alien gets to a turret, packets grow excessively for players that see the turrets, limiting those clients' (mostly, but others' too) snapshot refresh rate downto a dangerous level.

that's because there is pretty much 2 ways to win. either aliens rush right at the begginning, or humans build forward early. i guess those 2 options happens an equal amount of time. if you don't do those 2 options, the resulting game will be extremly boring play.

turrets shouldn't have a significant impact on bandwidth, a turret firing and a player firing should be roughly equivalent. my connection is crap too btw, and a server should have enough of a connection to deal with traffic spikes.

Dude, it's really not about your connection, unless you have 56k. 32kB/s download speed is plenty. Either way, it's exactly those servers that can't handle lag spikes that make you hate campers. And I haven't seen pro servers for a long long time.

solution: don't play on servers run from a home connection.

I wouldn't expect much of a solution if they serve >16 slots or have >100BPs
