BAAAAAD ping problems

im playing on akka and beer garden servers, and im noticing a few things:


1: ping is ALWAYS at 500+

2: sometimes i stay in one spot but i can use other keys

3: i ping out alot

internet is high speed, not downloading anything, and comp is clean of spyware, adware and viruses.

help?

Are there any other programs that might use the internet running in the background?

Running any sort of file sharing application will slow you way down.

From the UK I only get pings of about 100-150 on AKKA or beergarden, so might be something like your firewall impeding communications.

Only time i've ever had it go higher was the server stalling, in which case everyone gets the same high ping.

hmm well server is in texas

as far as lag lots of people get it

beergarden is running other servers for elite force and quake so when those servers are full everything is slowed down..

tremulous is a beast of a game that is sucking up most of the usage :o

Try adjusting your /rate a tad, had some ping problems myself and that solved it mostly.
