Hey, I just finished a Shell Script (with the other necessary files) that installs Tremulous, MacRadiant 1.5, and all of the necessary files to run a Tremulous server.

IT'S A MAC ONLY SCRIPT.

It also has individual installs for a server and one for mapping.  And, of course, it comes with an uninstaller for each installer.

It comes with every file included (no additional downloads necessary, except Tremulous maps), and weighs in at 141.6 MB zipped.  After unzipping, it comes to a total of 225.3 MB.

All you have to do to install it is drag "Install All MacTremFiles.sh" into Terminal.app and press Return.  It won't overwrite any Tremulous files of your own, it will only ADD THE ONES YOU DON'T HAVE.  It comes with 62 server commands.

The scripts have been tested many times (mostly results from my other projects--MacTremServ and MacTremMap, which were directly incorporated into this project).  Take a look and let me know what features you want in the next version!

Here's the link:

Enjoy!

@62 server commands: Are any of them mine that I gave you? Cause anyway, I added some to that list. Total of 72 server commands here (biatch). If you want 'em, just ask.

Is it latest SVN + Backport?

If not, I can help you there.

I don't really see any question here, so I think this should be moved to the "Mod reviews and releases" section.

Just pointing that out.

No Death, it's not the latest SVN + Backport, and I could use some help on that.  Also, almost all of the commands I used are yours, so just send me whatever you have, and I'll make sure they're all in the next version.

Are you going to make Intel and PowerPC versions?

Currently, I have only compiled an Intel One. It is Backported, and is the latest SVN as of now. It is revision 1026.

Intel
PowerPC

Right now an Intel version in a little difficult--I tried to get Intel MacTremMap going, but there was one person to test it. I couldn't get it to work after many revisions.  Maybe with some help I could make one, but for now it seems that since I have a PPC, I cant fully test it as I would like to.
I would love some help finding the newest Backport and SVN for PPC--I got the Backport 20070712 (or something like that), but I need the latest SVN.  Thanks!

One Person being Me?

Benmachine, Equilibrium and PlayerOne all have Intel Macs, probably more.

I do too :D

Hey, I have a question.  I'm currently finishing up MacTremFiles V2.  Should I include an X11 Install (straight from the Tiger Install Disc) in V3?  It seems like it might be a good idea, for those who computers came preinstalled with Tiger, and don't have the disc.  The download at Apple.com is defective, and won't actually install it, so I figure I should include it.  Sound good?

Every mac comes with a disc, I'm pretty sure, and your download is already pretty large. However, not a bad idea. Just be careful you don't put people off waiting.

Two separate versions of Version 3.

One without X11, One with.

Thanks for the suggestions--I think I'll include an optional X11 install script, and not include it in the main script.  It'll still be part of MacTremFiles, only the user will choose whether to install it or not.

V2 Link:

http://www.divshare.com/download/2282663-266

Oh, by the way, the download size has lowered to 139.2 MB.  You should also delete your copy of MacTremFiles V1 and replaced it with V2 whe the download finishes.

Also, if anyone is interested, I might be able to create some custom scripts for people who are having trouble with Tremulous on their Macs.  I'm no a genius, but it's worth asking me for help, because I'm a server operator, beginning mapper, and know my way around the Tremulous filesystem.

I could also use a V3 beta tester that has a PPC Mac.  I'm pretty sure that V3 is stable at the moment, but it would help to have some confirmation.  Send me an email at Groove.Machine@Yahoo.com if you're interested.

Thanks!

Hah, ok, so I've released MacTremFiles B3, complete with an optional X11 installer, and a few bug fixes.  Here's the link if you want to try it out:

http://www.divshare.com/download/2283838-0da

Test it out for me if you can, and remember, it's still beta.

IT ONLY WORKS ON A PPC!!!

The X11 Installer is an extraction from the Tiger Install Disc, and I'm not positive that it will fully work, but again, that's why it's a beta test!

Check it out if you can!

So, how's the testing going?  I haven't heard back from anyone yet, so I'm kin of stuck on its development right now.

Thanks!

I have been away for a long while....
But this seems interesting. Imma try it.

D'ack... nevermind. It isn't working for me.

The full installer script won't give me permission, and yes, I tried the code from the readme,
and the seperate installer scripts don't work because it can't find my tremulous folder, which is on the second compartment of my computer...
Never mind lil' ol' unmeaningly necro-ing me...
