Well, hi, I'm new here. Some of you may know me from the FileFront forums as Johnpp.

Anyway, a few months ago I started, or more, finished the beta of ZOB.
I am not really satisfied with the map, and think it is very much in beta, but I need to know what could improve or if I should just quit this project and start a new one.

As you can see, if you bothered to play it, it uses very basic textures and I cannot get Turrets working properly. I make them, and ingame there is no turret. Help anyone?

So any criticizm on this would be great.

Stop placing them inside the (most likely) floor. Just place the turrets well above the floor.

Hmm... when I create an AcidTube, it shows the .md3 in GTK radiant and it works ingame. When I make a turret, outside of the ground, there is no md3 model. It's just a box.

Have I done something wrong in my entities?

Most likely your turret shades ect are misplaced.

Don't worry it will work. Just something to do with the combined nature and the lacking of the original entity.def. There are a few solutions in the mapping forum.

Whaddya know, I found this in my Radiant Trem base. Along with Pod-strands and Common-Spog.

Thanks for all of your help guys.

Doing the next compile now, with turrets. After this, I am thinking of doing an outdoor map, almost like BloodGulch from Halo.

Don't bother if you never did it before, it will only frustrate you when player start complaining, as they always do on outdoor maps :)

And please never ever use Halo-maps as something you want to imitate, it _will_ fail.

Check the mapping forum about the problems of doing 'outdoor', take special care about vis and hints.
