Remove Transit Map?

As I am sure most of you know, there is a bug in Transit that allows builders (either type) to 'sink' buildings  in the lobby sloped area of the map.  This makes it impossible to kill off the team who does this as they can only 'get in' by spawning inside.  Each time this has happened (only) one of the opposing team have removed the offending structures (kudos to Lonely Angel for doing it last time) by TKing them, but the whole process spoils games.

Sooo..just wondering if its possible for server admins to remove the map until the bug is sorted..or remove the cycling of the map or whatever?

Maybe, at the least, a patch to the map putting a damage brush in that area would be a good idea as a "quick fix".  (This would be the "secret lava pit of doom" solution to the problem.)

Oh, and it was pretty lame.  I wish I'd thought of deconstructing the buildings.  I'll do that next time if a teammate builds there.  There was no way for the humans to beat us, and we beat S3 humans with S1 aliens after their star player quit (he probably figured out what was going on).

This is a code bug, fixed in r1trem svn and running on akka / satgnu.

If this ever happens to your game and your human, Lucy's and nades WILL damage the structures still, for a "temporary fix".  Just start attacking the area with them if you find alot of defences in the area and see no eggs.

Also, you can build buildings in door tracks, which can cause glitches.

Such as, there are doors that open up from the bottom in Transit (the ones outside of the lobby leading to the human base), and to my surprise I accidently built a hovel right on the track.  When the track tries to close, the hovel gets destroyed, but a glitch happens that makes the acid-explosion happen forever, effectivly creating an unstoppable "acid-field" (or as I like to call it, a "Decontamination Zone" for the humans, because thats what it looks like inbetween those two doors  :lol: ) that kills humans.  I could only get this to work however on doors that open from the bottom, but i havent tried yet if they work for double-doors, or human structures.  Transit is the only map I know of that has these doors though.

Thing is its a fun map to play, if a teammate does do it, just spawn as a ganger and rebuild it somewhere else.

No point ruining it for the rest due to a small number of people.

If your human, and you notice that this has happened, call a vote, most people will vote yes when you have explained what is going on.

I remember that game all that time trying to get the spawn out, and when i did it we skiped to next map =P

The first time I saw that bug I saw the humans, fully aware of what had happened, play out 20 minutes of the map without calling for any kind of vote. Marines showing their usual intelligence.

I didn't ask nobody to pose, that thing just appened on a game. I recorded a demo because I had never seen this bug, and I wanted to tell about it. I took some screenshots later and searched if the bug had been reported. As it was, but did not have pics, I have uploaded them.

Is there anything wrong with that?

Transit is a fine map, we know about that problem.
