A Tremulous "tower defense" mod.

Basically that's what you're looking at. Tremulous does not use botlib (adding that is not easy) so it will be pretty much tower defense or "clear the room, here's a medpack, keep moving" type of co-op/single game. This would end up looking a lot like SVEN co-op probably.

Things to do:
* AI controllers for enemies
* Additional scripting entities
* Campaign maps
* New weapons/entities/rules (medpacks, limited spawns, etc)

The AAS file is provided for ATCS. The human bot is functional but currently minimalist, it runs with his rifle and shoot eggs, ignoring aliens players and defenses.

Probably a good base for starting what's discussed above ;)

If you want to see some 'pretty good' AI with bots (Human & Alien), then join [T]Tbot, GEZ|Defense|Twin has done some pretty impressive work on them. Awfully intelligent acting, except for flame-throwers and Lucifer cannons. That, and they won't pounce or go around to climb up ledges.

Whao, I haven't noticed that before. Any info about this mod ? The GEZ website doesn't mention it.

Okay, better understanding now :

1/ lame bot by vcxzet
http://www.mercenariesguild.net/patches/?do=details&task_id=58
(stopped, but source code used as a base for TremBot)

2/ TremBot v0.01 by Amine Haddad (amine)
http://www.mercenariesguild.net/patches/?do=details&task_id=96
(stopped, but source code used as a base by GEZ team)

3/ [T] TBot by the GEZ team
http://tremulous.net/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?p=97914#97914
(in development by Defense|Twin of the GEZ team, currently no release, only a running server : [T]Bot)

Single Player seem more realistic every day ;)

I'm not expert but I believe you'd need one for every possible entity size so it becomes a bit cumbersome.

Can anyone tell me what the difference between these are? What was each developers contribution?

since the patch-release i got the bolib to handle multiple aas files and figured out how to pass a bounding box size and physics values as parameters to bspc. so every class gets its tailored aas.

I have never heard about somebody working with the cyrri source code.

As I know, lame bot and TremBot doesn't use path system, they follow human players or camp.
[T]TBot seem to be an enhanced TremBot with waypoint files, evolving, etc ... Play on the [T]Bot server, they are clearly aggressive ;)

Whoah, haven't seen you in ages SirFrancis, Do ya remember me? (I must have fed you enough times ;) )

Anyway, I would agree with psaw training, and possibly base building tutorials for the new players, seeing as all they do now is camp or feed :/

The people from [T] are the kind of people that do not release sourcecode.

AVPS could do wallclimb and pouncing made by aliens.
maybe it wasn't so smooth also, but the story and the environment scared the shit out of the audience.
So... dumb bots can work well when placed in neat atmosphere.
I rly didnt expect much more of those xenos than to crawl into my face as soon as possible.

but i guess SP should have a kind of quality to be successful that is way over the power of the community.
for training and once-in-a-lifetime fun... well maybe...
