Heh, I actually find that the semi circle base in atcs for humans is the best, yet one goon can take out all the rets alone..... so you cant really leave it alone hence, uber camp.
Also most builders need to learn for aliens Trappers are your friends, I find a well made trapper base is much more effective, than half of the other attempts at bases i've seen... on each entrance to the alien base there are like 4-5 good spots to place trappers.
you can put them on the center post pointing inwards into the base, traps em every time until they kill em, and on all of the alcoves on the bottom.
On the tom on the edge of the farther back slanted wall, 2 on the wall inside the ledge just as you come into base, and also in the grooves in the cieling on an angle will often even hit the large front entrance as well as the top.
Also putting the booster onto the ramp is nice, almost nade proof unless the nade in on/ right next to it, putting an egg closer to the edge in s1 on the floor on the normal platform gives creep tot he whole other side, not blocking the fucking ramp going up to the om with tubes/hovels/cades -.-
Also if you didn't know if you build a tube, and or hive on the bottom of the pipes lining the backs of the rooms the models disappear so if oyu build the hovel on the ramp not fully blocking so they have to go under the pipe, and build a tube, and trapper over it on the pipe invisa insta trap/kill ^^
unless they kill the hovel >.>
Umm also human base in the middle, is toast if aliens get s3, aliens base in the middle, hold up pretty well... 3 tubes and a trapper per entrance... (Yes it fits if you place carefully) an egg each side hovel blocking nades from om.....booster on either side, not both, and erm...... well yeah maybe a hive, cause if they get trapped it hurts a LOT xD
that's all I have to say... my bases hold up fairl well, so I figure they're decent ^^
