Nuclear Union for Killer Eggs |NUKE|
« on: November 06, 2007, 01:39:16 pm »
Introducing my midwest-America based clan, tag is NUKE. Stands for Nuclear Union for Killer Eggs, which, although fairly bizarre in name, is actually pretty cool once you think about it.

We are a non-discriminatory clan who allow any and all members, so long as they don't be constant assholes and won't join every other clan in existence. I'm not racist or sexist, so everyone is free to join. I do ask that you speak fluent or at least understandable English, simply for communication reasons, and have a decent location that won't lag out servers that we're playing on.

As for clan activities, the clan is mostly social-based. You won't find us statwhoring, pwning other clans, or generally being hardasses. TeamSpeak is not used, nor are XFire, IM, or other outside communications; information is passed along via forums and sometimes email alerts, as well as a Flash ShoutBox I've implemented on the forums.

That said, we do take the game seriously, and may scrim/practice/war on occasion, but don't expect to be battling and statwhoring every single day. I have a life outside of Tremulous, and so do many people here. We respect that, and don't expect everyone to be everywhere at every time. However, at least moderate activity is required, so don't join then come on Tremulous for an hour every month or so. Inactivity kills far too many clans on Tremulous, some of which are very prestigious groups.

Forums are located at:

http://z3.invisionfree.com/NUKE_Tremulous or http://www.nuketrem.tk/

Roster:

|NUKE|Mr. Phawks
|NUKE|iWolf
|NUKE|Liam!!

The forums are mostly finished; I've skinned them with the trademark radioactive rotten eggs theme (complementary to the clan name), added a marquee with announcements, a ShoutBox for instant communication, rule lists, everything.

Check the NUKE Forum Information section for a tour of the site. It's awesome, if I don't say so myself.

Once again, stop by and say hi; there's plenty to do, over at NUKE HQ!

I know that you said that it's not done, but I like everything except the fact that everything scrolls, if you fix that then everything will be fine:)

edit: I looks like safari doesn't like me:)

I was going to say, whoa; my FireFox doesn't scroll anything, except the news ticker, shoutbox, and general page scrolling...

Did you mean sidescrolling? In that case, sorry; I run my display at a default of 1024x764 and get no scroller issues.

the whole thing, I think it safari fault (I'm using the beta:) because I loaded up netscape navigator  9 and it worked perfectly. Everything is in announcements and hence scrolls

Sorry. It's just been awhile, Ozzy...

And, we do use in-game PM comms. BTW, Oz, any chance you could help me in my spam-vertisment scheme?

Just joking. I don't bindspam my clan.

For the record, we're still running and working on recruitment. We gained our 3rd member today, and hope to be checking on scrimmages and other active parts of Tremulous within a week or so.

If anyone wants to propose a practice of somesuch, just drop us a line at our forums or in this topic. Also, for reasons beyond my control, our arcade has suddenly stopped working, so there may be a lack of entertainment while you're at our forums for a while :(.

So after 10 days you are up to 3?
Nice. Maybe your recruitment would go better if you pay more attention to this game instead of trying to integrate obscure games into your forum.
Get out there, make your "Clan" known by being present on servers.

Really? I hadn't thought of actually playing the game I am recruiting clan members for. It's unthinkable!

For the record, that was sarcasm. And, I have been pretty active on the larger servers such as SST, Beer Garden, and Fragify, among others.

Well it seems you did a poor job then :) or you how would you try to argue that it takes 10 days for you to get a single player to join up with you?
All I am saying is that you should rethink your strategies quite a bit.
tbh, the concern you show about the arcade-plugins not working on a 2, sorry 3 user forum and to actually post about it here is just something that could lead to people believing that you are not yet ready to found a tremulous-clan.
Tremulous is about tremulous, you know :)

It didn't take 10 days for a single player to join. It took one day for my first member (other than myself) to join. Check the applications. Yesterday was the official join date of my second member. So, check things out and get your information in order before making false judgments.

All I am saying is that you should rethink your strategies quite a bit.

I'll keep that in mind, particularly the part I never use. I've seen how other leaders run their clans and am trying to adhere to those ideals whilst making a few unique ones of my own. I'll run my own operation, thank you.

The arcade mention is simply an excuse for me to bump this topic without getting F-bombed about it. The arcade section has been removed by the time you read this, so that is no longer regarded.

In short; I don't need outsiders to run my own operation. I appreciate feedback, but make sure it's concretely founded before you start making comments.

I can understand if you have trouble recruiting members.  Your reputation does not lend itself to being a clan leader-

Thanks for brining it up. That will hopefully discourage everybody.

and that's not entirely true (atleast how i read it the first time, you might've ment the same).
Clans form friendships, espec if the clan's competitive.

Yap. Essentially :)

Take a look at V- we stick together no matter the clan or the game, since way before Wolfenstein.

ofc u get new friends if you get into a clan, and as you compete with other clans you make more friendships.
but MAKING a clan should be based on simpathy, not skills.

When did this "racism" occur, I ask? And I answer, October 5th, 2007, a Friday, when I WAS OUT OF TOWN FOR A REUNION.

Of course, I downloaded Tremulous to my brain so I could wire in when the oldies at the park started sharing stories about the "good ol' days."

For proof; match IP addresses. Mine is 72.47.13.152, and the one listed there is 24.206.248.134. Check it with administration if you want.

So, make sure you know what you're saying before you start making accusations and "ZOMG U AM TEH PWNZORZED!!!!!!!" comments.

EDIT: I'd request that you edit your last few posts, Caveman, as well as your servers. Also, if you check the Beer Garden forums, the IP is still 24.206 subnet, with the suffix 251.126.

Do I need to post timestamped photographs of the family reunion for you? Or are you willing to admit your lack of information regarding such issues?

Oh puhleaze...
Next you'll tell us you have no clue that Cebridge has more then 2 IP-ranges and that it really was your evil dastardly step brother.
JFYI both IP-addresses route to the _same_ concentrator.

As for editing our server...
Your wish has been granted, after carefully reading your post on the other forum, your status has been changed.

From watch to ban on sight. We don't like fun killer such as yourself.

Oh yes, it was definitely my evil step brother. Even though I have no step brother, it was definitely him. Ban him. Not me.

For the retards, that was sarcasm.

Plus, the local junior high school uses Cebridge servers for their computer lab operations. The cable connections are expensive, but they're more reliable than running the entire district on other servers (including the university in Springfield.) So, it technically could have been anyone there; personally, I have no idea how to bypass the school's download restrictions (to install Tremulous), but there's plenty of nerds there that can. I posted this topic while doing research after school, so my IP in the first post here is 24.206.246.170 because of the computer lab's server setup.

Glad I can make your day. By the way, your ban on sight doesn't do shit; I've never played on any of the Wrath servers, nor do I plan to.

As for others reading this, disregard these last few posts about my supposed racism almost 2 months ago.

If anyone wants some racism, I can always begin commenting on Caveman's apparent German heritage. Take that however you like it.
