Caveman

aha?
Any reason why you did not work with libervisco on his thing and had to trump up your own?

jr2

You want a space combat sim or two to add to the mix?  Or, would that be too much?  IDK... hmm, maybe not a good idea, because stand-alone server support isn't going to be fixed until a month or two from now... :(  Let me know if you're interested, though..

As a general rule, the moderation here should be minimal. That being said, the following rules apply:

  • No topics containing illegal/offensive material (Pornography/Warez/Cracks).
  • Swearing and moderate insults are allowed.
  • No discussion of game cheats/bug exploits. Forward information to developers if it is a new exploit.
  • No flame wars that are no longer relevant to the topic (by which I mean those which have degraded to insults only).
  • Respect the moderators and the developers.
  • Respect punishments. Ban evasion earns an automatic permanent ban.
  • A permanent forum ban earns a permanent IRC ban.
Breaking the above rules may result in a warning, a temporary ban or a permanent ban, depending on the severity of the infringement.

Well if you read who the quote it is from, "Shafe" the Beer-Garden Servers owner. And here is the Original Thread.

@Timbo: Why not just edit his post and put something like I will not post warez here in place of whatever he said, like Survivor and Lava do?

[Edit] Crap, didn't read the edited first post, silly me.

Caveman

@thirdstreetidiot
Maybe it is you who should have learned to read before your mommy handed that keyboard to you.
Since you quoted it verbatim, you are responsible for the whole shebang, including the links.

From the download-site:
QuoteThe legality of this one is questionable. However, as it cant be found in stores anymore, here is the full version of the Multiplayer side of Star Trek Voyager Elite Force.

thirdstreettito

What the hell are you talking about? warez?

Caveman

Like I told you, get learning already.
Just a hint: how is that stuff called that is distributed w/o the consent of the copyright holder?

Your post states the games are free to download, while everybody knows that Star Trek Voyager: Elite Force is not free, and offering it for download on these forums is not allowed, as Timbo very politely pointed out to you.

Oblivion

He wants unbanned.

[21:03] Oblivion: Hello
[21:03] thirdstreettito: Hello
[21:03] Oblivion: To get to know me more eh?
[21:04] thirdstreettito: Ehh, yeah

[21:05] thirdstreettito: It says "Sorry thirdstreettito, you are banned from using this forum!
Circumvention of forum rules"

[21:06] thirdstreettito: I think it had to do with the Off-Topic topic "OMNI_GAME_FEST_2007"
[21:06] thirdstreettito: And what is a "warez"?
[21:07] Oblivion: Here is the rules

Ouch.. I sorta feel bad for him.
But you are responsible for what you post whether you read it or not and will be held accountable.
In addition once he was warned about it he then posted a link to original post with the link that was edited out of his post just driving the final nail in the coffin.
The ban was justified and he showed a pattern of not paying attention to what he was posting over and over again, so i really doubt it will ever be lifted.
Looks like its only a 3 day ban.. I should learn to check the ban list and read the expiration date before posting i guess..  :-\

It seems there really is such a thing as resistance to reading/learning.

Tell me about it. Shafe is a 40+ Trekkie virgin and he doesn't like to obey the copyright laws and licenses

Shafe always tries to organize silly "tournaments" like this.
I'm sure the appropriate individuals were well notified in advance.

Guys... the images in your sigs... o.O  You wanna try IrfanView & resize them or something?  You'll make any thread you post in unreadable for anyone who has a connection speed slower than 20 KB/sec down.

I'm fully aware of that function.  Unfortunately, it does not allow for turning specific users' sigs off.

HLP finally found a way around this... users are no longer allowed images in their signatures.  If you guys want to wait for the admins to nuke your signature picture ability, that's fine by me.  *shrugs*

Well if I had known that there were illegal links before I posted it I would have not posted it. I figured Shafe wouldnt do an idiotic thing like that, but I guess I underestimated him. I am sorry to all of you in case I have caused any inconvenience.

Lava Croft

Stop laying the blame at Shafe, while the only one to blame for this post here is you. What Shafe does outside of these forums is of no relevance. Wether he cuts up grannies in Boston or dismantles landmines in Darfur.
Next time it might be smart to think about what you are posting.

Promoting thievery is not really an inconvinience, it's just not cool.

thirdstreettito

I said sorry, and I'm not blaming it all on Shafe, because I should have used all the links to see if they were okay, and obviously they weren't.

Nope, I rarely go there.... I'd take out the download links if you post it there...

yeah, so not shafe's fault.

i like to go the extra mile and take out every link to his site imo

What is your vendetta against Shafe?  You ban and erase him from your site.  You trash him every opportunity you get.  Yet he runs one of the most popular servers on the net for your game Open Arena.  Is that it?  Envy?  Or are the other issues you can't deal with?
