Some ideas

Sorry if these have been mentioned before just thought they may be useful

Melee - Humans can punch or whack aliens with their rifle
Drop items - Drop things in inventory (Say you need to get through the vent but you got a bs and theres no arm in sight)
Pick up items - Dead humans drop items for others to pick up (excluding bs)
Scope - For more weapons, Target Laser
Rocket Launcher - Shoots missiles low ammo
Mines - Explode when trod on or shot
EMP - For aliens disable Human Structures inrange for a short time
Armoury always usable - Armoury is a locker full of weapons is it not it shouldn't require power
Armoury Stocks limited - Each armoury can only contain a certain amount of ammo weapons requiring new arms when stock is deplenished
Bleed - After being injured humans/aliens slowly lose health (accompanyed with some particles)
Flash Bangs - Blind/deafen anything in blast radius for set time
Injections - Make human immune to posion
Teleporter - Human structure allowing humans to get to and from forward bases with ease (Aliens can use too)
Crawl - Allow humans to get on their belly to get through tight spaces (extremely slow movement)
Tracker - Placed on anything tells humans objects position
Alien Fatigue - Aliens have a meter limiting their ponce/charging
Trapper - Does small amount of damage and slowly covers screen with spit (Blinding human)
Acid bombs -  Alien projectile
Aliens Health regen - Only occurs if they have OM or eggs
Healer - New race that can heal aliens
Injury - Depending on health movement is slowed
Limit Structures - Only a certain number of things can be built near one another (Prevent tube/teslawalls)
Night Vision - Goggles for humans (replaces helmet) and comes with some alien races

Freinds - List in main menu showing which server there on (If any)

Well, Knowitall66, do you know that gameplay is more important than the sense of reality? You also forgot to mention that aliens don't exist in reality, so they should be removed.

On the other hand, nothing is stopping you from implementing the stuff you just described in a mod.

Can we please put an end to this attitude of "all new ideas are crap"? Nothing he listed was particularly offensive, his post was calm and well formed and yet he gets instantly trashed. Can we please be a little more open-minded here? Just stay silent if you can't think of anything constructive to say. I promise you can thrash wildly all you want at 1.2 when it comes out.

Yeah, these, while mostly not terribly new and occaisionally ill thought, are all at least decent. Maybe it doesn't deserve "Hell yeah man we'll get right on that right away," but it doesn't need to elicit the same response that's given to the "You should give humans tanks and make the Protoss a third side" types.

Hey Knowitall66 good to see you around the forums (where ya been/maybe it wuz me).

@Norf: Well spoke, but I guess you were right when you said you were busy and somewhat incommunicado. That's the level of discourse to be found herein (and it somewhat trickles in from the very source which is supposed to preclude it).

Two things:

1) I don't see anywhere where it is specified that the Armoury is a locker of physical weapons. It doesn't open up, you don't step inside, it couldn't possibly hold all of that inside there anyway, etc. No, it is instead, a 3-D printer for producing artifacts on the spot, according to models and plans supplied within. The supply of matter could be some source of raw nanites (coming in thru a pipe in the bottom or sucked in from the air or beamed over from the reactor) which are combined to produce the required item. Remember that we are talking about the year 4025 or something (and that the Marines all look alike which means they're clones or droids or replicants or dopplegangers or alternate reality versions of the same guy). In short, it ain't just a box with guns inside.

2) Overall, if all of these ideas were combined, they might a good Combat-style mod/conversion/add-on pack for more intense battle-action, although of course, the usual "what's wrong with Trem like it is?" and "This will all have to be play-tested for balance" arguments apply. In short, might not be too bad if all rolled into one mod-of-the-mod semi-TC. Querulous: the Mod. You realize that we must never speak of it again until you've made it, had it play-tested by volunteers on your own private server, and released a beta.

P.S. Yeah some of them have been mentioned, some are kind of obvious in a "wouldn't it be cool if?" kind of way, and the last thing I will say is here come the people asking "have you thought about how this will affect gameplay/do you mean to introduce some or all of these/do you think we haven't thought of this already?". OK, in and immediately back out while there's still a wave of goodwill and wild creativity left in this thread.

Given that the humans have nanotechnology to create any weapon and object they want, why not create an impenetrable wall that covers the human base and repairs itself?

Ive been around now and again. I'm mostly trying to make a map that can compare to one of the default ones (Detailing is not one of my strong points but im getting there :P).
If the arm can make weapons why not a hand held device that can make weapons then 1 human could be invincible to an extent. :P Ah haha jk
